This is a marvelous, unique cottage. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Will definitely book again.Just a few notes to be sure of before you book.1. The pathway could be difficult for any one with difficulty walking. The walkway is stone and is uneven in places. If you need a flat surface for walking the walkway maybe not work for you There are lots of great wagons to haul stuff down to the property.2. There are areas of the walkway that are not well lit. Have your phone flashlight on if you come in the dark.3. There is the ambience of trains coming through and the sounds of gun shots from hunters. We loved it! 4. Most of the sleeping rooms are in the lofted area. Beautiful, absolutely amazing. Those sensitive to noises at night will need earplugs.5. The lofts were a hit with the teens in our family.6. We also enjoyed the hot tub and 4 season porch. The kitchen and dining table are great for a large group. 7. There's plenty of parking.8. This was a great experience and we will book again. Be certain this fits your needs if mobility is an issue or if you need ansolute quiet at night. The master suite was so comfortable with a large en suite bathroom. The whole cottage is impeccably clean and we'll stocked.

We had a great time. Nice property, cozy home, great views. Didn’t expect to hear so many trains passing by regularly. We had five in our family and three dogs. Home and property was perfect for having pets. High quality and durable home with a nice balance to enjoy the home and not worry about damaging something. Would definitely stay again.

This was our 2nd stay here. We love it! My gal and pals and I are planning to try to make it here for an extended weekend every year or every other year. We always look forward to soaking in the hot tub and watching the eagles in the morning and we weren't disappointed. We were able to watch the Brewers and Packers games as well. We love the big tables so we can gather and play games. The beds are so comfortable as well.

We were totally blown away by Lion Downe Cottage! The space was immaculate, the views were outstanding, it had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the great hot tub, grill, fire pit, and screened-in porch. Rob’s communication was helpful and prompt and we received some great tips for local swimming spots to enjoy the warm weather and explore this beautiful part of Wisconsin.Honestly this was one of the best VRBOs I’ve ever been in, and we absolutely want to be back!

Amazing bluff view

We all had an amazing time in such a beautiful location. Very secluded with a wonderful fire pit. Although we did not have a fire. We did enjoy the hot tub very much. The grill was awesome to use and the chairs on the deck were were terrific. We especially love the springed in court. The best part about this place was the fact that was the first time we could all sit around the table together and have a meal without taking turns. Even the door is cute! The owners were extremely responsive and we had a fabulous time! Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. Excellent! Excellent. Excellent!

Lovely Mother's Day Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at this location! The property was clean, cozy, private, and comfortable. The hosts were easy to contact and quickly responded to questions. We enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Pepin and the hot tub was a nice bonus. The hosts provided ear plugs and eye masks, which was appreciated, because the windows let in a lot of light, and sound travels easily between the open concept main level and upstairs. The basement bedroom had beautiful views as well, and there was a charming screened-in sitting room. The two lofted single beds would be great for adventurous school-aged children, but us adults were afraid of climbing the ladder haha. Fortunately, there were plenty of other beds available for us. We enjoyed our weekend and would stay here again!

Peaceful and scenic

This is our second time staying at the Lion Downe Cabin, and we hope to return for a third visit. The outdoor hot tub in winter is "the bomb." Wonderful to sit outside in the cool, crisp air, looking at the stars from a nice warm jetted tub. Everything worked correctly. Even though we were there in winter, the walkway is clear (sanded and salted). The cabin was warm and cozy. Comfortable beds. We saw several eagles, a few deer, and quite a few ice fishing tents on the lake. The cabin is about a 15 minute drive to the nearest restauarant (The Outpost), which was fast, friendly, efficient, and served wonderful food. The only challenge we encountered was some fog, but if you have gps or some decent google maps you can navigate through that. Will definitely return if given the opportunity.
