There’s no way the 8.3 stars can be real. This place is a dump. It looks nothing like the pics. The lobby stunk so bad like food. It looked terrible, did not look clean and everything looked old. The hallways upstairs where our room was stunk like someone was cooking in a room the entire stay. The breakfast hours on the weekend were 6:30-9:30. When we went down to grab food at 8 everything was empty. The cappachino machine was pushing out water, the coffee was full, the waffle mix was empty. There was no hot food. All of the containers were empty, the tables were dirty too! My husband told the woman at the lobby desk that everything was empty. We sat there for 40 minutes drinking coffee and in that time staff brought out egg discs and hashbrowns that seemed like the ones that are dehydrated that were mixed with too much water. That was all she brought the whole time we were in there. A man that was staying at the hotel came up to us and said there was no way the reviews on this place were real. Do not let the breakfast be any kind of deciding factor on staying here. It was a joke. There’s a sign in the room that says if you want new towels put the used ones on the floor that if they were hanging it means you want clean ones. Clean ones never came neither did housekeeping. We had to go to the lobby and get towels ourselves. She had a stack of behind the desk. I wish I could add pictures to this review. Don’t waste your money staying here.

Just "meh" at best

I stayed two nights, and was surprised to find out that I did not have a kitchen counter as shown in the photos. Also was surprised to learn that I would have NO room service for the entire stay. They don't provide weekend room service and that was not disclosed. Not exactly sure what I paid over $100 a night for? The breakfast was scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30am, but it was often empty and not refilled by 8am. I also had a drip sound in my bathroom coming from a floor above. I was on the first floor and it was audible in the room even with the bathroom door closed. Rooms were dim - lighting was bad. Bed was terrible! Mattress needed replaced in both beds.

Not what we have come to expect

Our family has stayed at the Parkwood numerous times as we have a student at Kansas State. Parkwood has been a great, economical option that is close to campus, and clean. Breakfast has been good and we have enjoyed good service. This time was different. Breakfast was terrible: limited options with all of the hot food being luke-warm at best. We have enjoyed the breakfast here before and did not allow for time to eat elsewhere. Perhaps we should have just checked out and grabbed something quick. We left our room (2 adults and college aged daughter) to go to breakfast. We left ALL of our belongings in the room as it was 2.5 hours before check out and we were not quite ready to leave. My daughter went back up to the room to shower and found housekeeping in our room cleaning. The beds had been stripped and staff was cleaning the bathroom. We had very clearly not checked out. The staff did not even leave when my daughter re-entered the room and just continued cleaning. We had expensive electronics in the room in addition to all of our personal documents and wallets/purses. We also discovered that the housekeeper had taken the pillowcase off of my pillow and thrown it in with the dirty linens belonging to the hotel. It was very clearly not a hotel pillow. At this point we had asked housekeeping to leave the toom to allow us to finish getting ready and pack. My partner had to go find the staff to locate my pillowcase. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

The hotel is pet friendly and there’s a park across the street that has bags to be able to pick up after your dogs. My room had luxury vinyl flooring which is great when bringing your dogs.

Comfortable stay

Friendly front desk people, Clean room and comfortable bedroom equipped with Iron and iron table. Their breakfast isn't that good and it comes with minimal selection.

The room was tidy a facilities were good, but the bed and mattress was worn and extremely uncomfortable. My wife and I both woke up with back ache because it felt like we slept in a hammock. The towels should also be replaced as they old and washed out. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast options were average.

This place should not advertise that it offers free breakfast. That description does not fit what was available each morning. No OJ the first day, only one flavor of yogurt, not so much as a bagel on offer, just plain bread tossed in a plastic case! Then there were the "hot" items. I don't know how they cook their eggs, but they were flavorless rubbery little rounds. I cannot call the white mushy stuff in the other warmer "hash browns" because there was no color to them. At all. Then there is the staff.... A sign on the front desk says that, effective December 2022, housekeeping is only offered M/W/F. I hung the "do not disturb" sign on my door and the room was entered and cleaned, anyway. Traveling alone with a bunch of meds for chronic conditions, I do NOT appreciate having no control over my security! I will not be staying at this hotel again.
