Loved it more than our 4 star resort lodging

This was hands down the favorite lodging of the trip for the entire group. If you want to experience the true "florida keys" relaxed and zen experience, this place is for you. Although you could see the cottages have been around a while, they are well maintained and very inviting. The neighborhood is quiet, the ocean is at the end of the road (1/2 a block away), and the property will maintained.

We received our check-in info, with the door code, but it didn't work. No one answered their after-hours number. We left two messages and waited over an hour, but decided to find another place to stay. They have said we'd be reimbursed, but have yet to hear whether that has been processed.

Not what we were expecting

We were all surprised by the condition of the trailer/cottage we were assigned to. The AC did a mediocre job of cooling the place and the TV didn't work. Worst of all was the incredibly strong (horrible) odor(s) drifting up from the beach area...and that beach, btw, is unusable. Also worth noting: two nearby dumpsters filled with garbage. The one positive was the on-site tiki bar and food truck.

Tropical Cottages is everything you dreamed a stay in the keys would be. We stayed in cottage 3, with the two queen beds. It was adorable. We were both impressed with how spacious the room felt, even with the adorable little kitchenette they built in to the space. The room was clean and well taken care of. You can feel the pride of ownership radiating through the space. Will definitely be staying here again when I come back to the keys.

I've stayed at this property numerous times. Every time is a wonderful experience. The staff are professional, organized, and helpful when I had questions. I will always come back here in fhe future. I give Tropical Cottages my highest recommendation! You eill not be disappointed.

It cost way too much for a room with an outdoor toilet and shower it was nasty. The staff was not helpful at all. Imagine what it’s like using the toilet when it’s raining. This wasn’t not stated in any email.
