The room darkening curtains were improperly hung and so they weren't effective. The shower never got warm enough to even create steam in a cool room. The room was not completely furnished so the only mirror is in the bathroom. Front desk staff worked hard to make a proper welcome, but their inexperience with the hotel computer system was apparent.

Property under construction! Property did not provide appropriate room that was booked with handicapped needs! No extra pillows as asked for and a first floor! Placed in a room that was still being renovated room totally unacceptable! Manager called nothing was done to fix problems and put in non handicap room and my guest with me has a prosthetic leg n needed a handicapped bathroom which was initially reserved! I will never ever stay at a Windgate again! Extremely upset and disappointed it was his birthday! Disgusted!

Renovations are underway, and there was construction materials lying around in multiple locations. Open utility doors, wooden crates in the middle of the lobby, etc. My room was clean, but details were left undone; such as a phone that wasn't plugged into the wall, (and it didn't work when I did plug it in) and a clock on the night stand that was unplugged. Though I was given a wifi code at check-in, the wifi was not working. I texted the front desk and was told that I'd have come down to the lobby to use the wifi. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, all but one of the staff I met at the front desk was dressed very unprofessionally. (Inside out t-shirt, pink hoodie) They could have said when I first checked in; "We're sorry about the construction materials, we're under renovation." Those words were never said. When I checked out, the gentleman at the desk didn't even ask "how was your stay"? He somewhat reluctantly printed me a receipt and went on doing something else, barely acknowledging my existence as I exited the hotel. I have a conference every year in this town, I won't come to Wingate again.

I had reserved a confirmed ADA room and the staff switched it to a regular room without even a phone call. They had an ADA available but it had not been cleaned so I had to wait for them to set it up. Desk clerk was excellent. She was frustrated but turned over the room herself.

We were there for 2 nights. Discovered 1st night no hot water in sink and deadbolt on door was not lined up so we couldn’t put deadbolt on. Told attendant early next morning. Promised it would be repaired. Returned late that night and lock and water not repaired. Very disappointed.

Under construction!!! Be Aware

We checked in for our granddaughters graduation on Friday. The hotel was being renovated and the construction crew had little regard for the guests. At dinner time, they were tiling the floor of one of the 2 elevators (the hotel was booked solid due to graduation) but rather than take that elevator out of service, they worked on it. So when you pushed the button, the elevator would open with a workman inside. If you tried to get the other elevator, the same one would open with a workman in it. We used the stairs several times as it was impossible to get the one working elevator. The breakfast area had artwork on the tables, and tools everywhere. The construction people had absolutely no regard for the guests. In our bathroom (which had be recently "renovated") the knob on the shower control came off in my husbands hand when he tried to turn it on. Only because he is handy were we able to use the shower. Despite our room being very large, there was a huge empty space where a sofa or chair should have been but there was noting. The lamps on the bedside table were orientated so that you could not turn them on unless you crawled on the floor to find the cord. Obviously someone just put the furniture in the room with no regard for how it would work for a guest. I made this reservation almost a year ago so we would have rooms for graduation, very disappointing!
