Nice place to land

We stayed on two different nights before and after a rafting trip. The hotel was on the river. With a live view and deck on the room each night. There was a pool that we did not use, but if it had been warmer weather, I would have. The room was clean and comfortable. It is a little older but in good repair. Continental breakfast was well stocked and ok.

Not the best nights sleep!

The bed was comfortable that was about the only thing good at the hotel. Both nights dogs in the lower level barked off and on all night. Ceiling creaked every time the people in the upper level walked. Walls were super thin, we could hear the conversations in the room next to us.

This hotel, and its sister property, The Lodge, are one of the great midweek, shoulder season travel offerings of southern Oregon. The hotel’s witches just at the edge of the Rogue River and from the bed on has a view (and sound) of wide running water, lush trees and ducks and geese foraging at the water line. Beautiful! Well appointed, updated room with large fridge, coffee, microwave. Will stay here again on our West Coast travels!

Decades ago I was not impressed with my one stay here. This time, from Reception service onward, we had a wonderful stay. Our rm. 366 (good elevator and stairs) was a lovely, quiet room, with very comfortable beds and pillows. Appreciated that the bathroom is separate from the sink area. The fridge was larger than a mini-fridge, and worked well. Balcony view looks through the treetops and out over the river, and has a small table and 2 chairs, where we enjoyed our morning coffee. We enjoyed the gas fireplace which does put out a little heat, but is mainly used for looks. There is also a nice heater-A/C unit. Shower area is large, with good water pressure. Plenty of big towels! We didn't use the bathrobes. Breakfast is provided until 10 A.M., in the very nice Breakfast room-- a Relaxing ambience. Breakfast staff were the best, working around folks to refill all items, clear dishes, to help provide a wonderful experience. When requested, they turned off the blabbing TV talk shows (UGH!) and really worked to find some quieter fare. Please, find some nice Background music for your Beautiful Place! We really didn't hear much sound during our stay, but our neighbor coughed once and I could hear that (slightly muffled), so I then felt sorry for them, for the coughing spell I'd had earlier. Other than that, there are normal sounds of slight traffic, geese honking, and river. A beautiful place and I hope to stay there again, on our future Migration journeys!

The riverfront balcony was wonderful. So peaceful with the sound of the river lulling us to sleep. The doors opening to the outside meant the dog could be out on his tie out cable and come in and out as he pleased. This was an excellent hotel and I’ll make it my preferred hotel in Grants Pass. Pillow top mattresses and cozy duvets would make the experience that much better.
