C&C Western Tour 2025

This is an older motel/hotel. Somethings were updated, but there are things like door knob lock should be replaced as you had to play with the key to get it to work also all of the electrical outlets are worn and when you plug in anything the plug slide out as there is no grip to the prongs. I told the front desk and the response was not encouraging kind of a shrug.

The best thing it had going was location. The room was clean, but very musty, like we were the first of the season. They should have aired it out. Tight parking, but the staff was very pleasant.

The room was very clean — not new, but neat, nice, and well-maintained. The area where the hotel is located is absolutely beautiful and very convenient to several major sites, including Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, and Goosenecks State Park. The front desk staff were polite but not particularly personable, more matter-of-fact. The on-site restaurant was disappointing and not very good. However, a nice bonus is that they offer free coffee in the mornings.

Sketchy

Location is beautiful, but the motel itself was sketchy. I arrived after 8pm and had called ahead to let them know per the booking instructions, they left my key in the door of my room to allow access which is concerning. The deadbolt lock was painted over, the whole room was creaking, the bathroom looks like it hasnt been updated or deep cleaned since the 80s. I was traveling solo for business, would not recommend for other solo female travelers. Luckly there was a large wooden bench i could place infront of the door

Loved the serenity of the grounds, the porches in the view of the river. Check in was very friendly. The room was clean. We ate at the restaurant as we did not want to get back in the car. I found the restaurant very pricey and had a very small menu. However food was good.

You realize you are staying in the middle of nowhere. Close enough to Forrest Gump filming spot and Monument Valley, so it's perfect for that. Staff friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the restaurant at the place, but I bet it was good. It looks worn, but is surprisingly clean and had a good bed and hot shower. We'd book again.

The San Juan Inn is a genuinely historic place that hasn't gotten a historical marker, and a quirky, offbeat place that the hipsters haven't discovered. The rooms are clean, bright and large, the staff hardworking and eager to please, the onsite dining pefectly good and often outstanding, and the location and setting unbeatable. Hovenweep, Monument Valley and Bears Ears are three world-famous places within an hour or so of the Inn, and there are many more lesser-known sights to discover for yourself. Well worth the trip!
