If you like to stay in a ghetto area this will be it….. this place is not what it seems or sound online. Deity sheets that rooms smell horrible. Also doors don’t lock properly. Not to mention everyone knows that code to your room. I complained to the front staff and she moved me to another room. The situation was the same. Bed was dirty and it smelled bad. She “cleaned” the room after i complained again and pretty much just used air freshener and changed that sheets. The beds are also broken. After all of this I was refuse a full refund. Not even a partial refund was offered. I wouldn’t recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

Lady at the front desk (think she is the owner) was so nice and helpful. Themed rooms were really cool and bed was so comfortable. Location is close to downtown , Wynwood public transportation. Next time we are in Miami we will be back

Wasn’t loud or disturbing like other may have mentioned, black owned businesses each room is named after a famous black person ….. only thing I didn’t like was the tv was tooo small for my liking . Clean, quite and friendly staff .

The hotel has great friendly and professional staff. I love the history of the hotel and how which room is decorated and named with historical famous artists. I was so impressed with my room decoration, I took time to read about Josefine Baker. I totally recommend this hotel, I am sure people will love it. Hope I have the opportunity to stay here in the future.

The lady at the front desk let us check in pretty early which was nice because we flew all night. We were able to walk to the downtown and brickell still but it was quite far. Good place for the price.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to decorate the rooms and lobby but neglected to maintain it. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room, the toilet paper holder was off the wall, pieces of the bathroom counter underneath were missing. We had no cups in our room and after we asked, they never appeared. The continental breakfast was sparse but there wasn’t any bowls or salt and the front desk couldn’t find any. The bread for toast was the absolutely cheapest and nastiest you could find. On the plus, The staff was universally nice and friendly. Gave us lots of tips to do things but they didn’t seem to know what was what in the hotel. The area around the hotel did not have a lot touristy stuff around but it was an easy walk to the bay side. Good parking. We felt safe in the area though it was run down. A good manager would straighten these things out and the hotel would definitely get a higher rating. I just kept thinking the whole time: how is this worth the money?

What a great hotel find! I was here on business for 4 days. You are situated on the main transit line for buses and the green and orange train line. A 15 - 20 min walk will get you downtown for dinning options. Supermarket very close. Great walking location, you can walk the waterfront in an hours round-trip. Continental breakfast. Recommend!
