Normally my stay is great, but this time my party had multiple negative encounters with the staff. Bartender at the pool was rude, and a security guard accused us of not being guest. Not sure why we were asked at the pool if we were a guest when you have to use a key card to everywhere at the hotel. Also they did not honor our daily credit.

I recently stayed at your hotel in room 3408 from Friday, March 8th. I’m writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the unacceptable customer service and the racial profiling I experienced during my stay. Upon check-in, the front desk informed me that guests receive two complimentary drinks per day at the pool bar. However, when my companions and I — all African-American men — arrived at the pool bar, the first question we were asked was, “Do you guys stay here?” I presented my room key and ID to confirm my stay. While I understand the need for security, the tone and approach felt unwelcoming and inappropriate. Later that night, as we returned to the hotel, a staff member physically grabbed my arm and said, “Hey, you don’t stay here.” Again, I showed my room key with the distinctive “E” symbol, yet there was no apology for the false accusation.

The price is high but it’s WORTH it. Take the trip and stay here, you won’t regret it. Everything down to the shower was immaculate. Thank you for a relaxing birthday EAST.
