When we got there to check in, there was no power. Stated it had been out for for hours and this was around 4:20 ish. We were given a room on fourth floor which we were walked up to with a flashlight. I asked if any rooms available on 1st floor. I was told no. We went to dinner and when we came back after stating I have vertigo, gave us a room on 1 st floor. No back up generator. Room was chilly. Needless to say, no shower. When asked if I would be fiven discount due to I conscience of no power was told no. Power did not come on until after 11 pm. Night staff was nIce and trying their best but morning staff were not. Why were we not relocated to another hotel ? I’m sure the Hampton owed a couple of other hotels in the area that had power. This was the university of West Virginia area.
Staff was super nice but the housekeeping needs to do better. Our room had a dirty makeup smeared comforter on it, coffee spilled on the counter, sticky substance on the end table and finger prints on everything. We were able to change rooms with no problem
What can I say, it's a Hampton. It was clean and reliable. great if you need a place. I love Hamptons because they are pretty consistant.
This Hampton was very clean and convenient to the campus and hospitals.
I was here based on a medical emergency. The stay involved multiple family members and i gad to extend my stay to accommodate the medical uncertainty and changes. Gwen was very accommodating and worked very hard to make everything as seamless as possible. She was very knowledgeable and communicated with everyone in my family well. My family have used this location before but never had such great service from an individual. It was good to see someone who knew their position and procedures very well to support our family in a stressful situation.
