We booked a standard king. They were all taken so we had to take a double. Melissa didn’t let us know that we weren’t going to have a king so when we went into the room and saw there was no king bed, I went down to ask her if there was a mistake. She was very rude and extremely short with me for asking about the situation. Shower head was broken also. We won’t be staying at a Days in again. Melissa needs to work on her customer service skills.

It is very dark around the property with not a lot of lighting in the parking lot for when I took my dog out to walk a little. I went next door where it was more lit. Otherwise good.

I asked for a property near me. After booking, it was shared that the property was in walking distance. I walk in the front door to find out that somehow I was booked 25min away. A horrible experience! I paid to stay at this Days Inn. It is a dump. Dirty, carpets torn. Outdated. Mattresses are extremely worn.

Needs updating

Bathrooms needed to be remodeled. Exhaust fan and bathroom was really loud. Shower curtain did not fit properly. That the hotel was propped open when it should be secured by opening up with your key card.

Adequate. Got the job done not bad not good. As expected. Would be nice if they cleared the parking lot it was a solid sheet of ice. Ice machines out of order, everything else out of order, heater made nonstop whining noises, cracking, peeling, place needs some TLC. odd smell throughout.

No smoke alarm in room, among other things…

Room was adequate, carpet and tile in the hallway looked very worn. Hairdryer attached to the wall near the sink wouldn’t work, and when I called the front desk four different times, letting it ring for well over three minutes each time, no one picked up. The smoke alarm on the ceiling had been completely removed leaving a large hole and wires hanging out. When I checked out the next day, I asked why there wasn’t a smoke alarm, and they apologized, but gave no reason. I asked “so are all the smoke alarms in all the rooms gone?” And they said no. I’ve been inquired why I wasn’t put into a hotel room that was fully equipped with a smoke alarm, since there were only about 10 cars in the driveway and not a fully packed situation where every room was taken. They just shrugged. In my book, there are basic things that every room should be properly equipped with and in working order for safety issues, and the basic needs of anyone staying in a hotel room. That the water is working, hot and cold, water pressure in the shower, shampoo and soap at the very least, a working television with a working remote, I do not disturb sign available to hang on the front door, an iron and ironing board, proper solid Wi-Fi, and an actual smoke alarm. Not too much to ask.

Stay away!

We spent one night at the Days Inn in Mount Vernon, IL and will never stay there again. The parking lot was a sheet of ice with limited parking options. The front desk worker was very sour and short. The entire hotel needed to be vacuumed including our room. The room was large and the bed was comfortable (the only plus of our stay). I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast… dry cereal, toast, waffles, apples, yogurt. The butter for toast/waffles was in a community bowl that was shared by all. It looked like it had been reused for several days. The jelly was in a Great Value squeeze bottle with jelly sticking to the outside of the container. The milk for the cereal was a gallon of milk in their cooler. No individually wrapped condiments. I think the Department of Health should be contacted and inspect their operation.

Staff was very friendly, he made the stay pleasant. Food choices for the breakfast were lacking, but then we didn’t pay much for our stay so no complaints there. Just don’t expect an elaborate buffet! The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet and clean. Thats all we really need when traveling!
