It was refreshing to enter the lobby and be able to have a cup of delicious lemonade and baked treat. However, the room I was in could use a bit of upgrading, especially the air conditioner unit and better choices of tv programs.

The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The staff were very responsive. We had issues with our refrigerator and once reported, the management quickly sent someone to our room to fix it. However, the TV channel options were awful, most of the programs were of very old movies (from 10+ years ago). Most channels had no signal and the ones were working the screen was dark.

Great property with a kitchen and everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Very quiet and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It was a bit weird that the toilet seat would not stay up and that there is no place to drop off your garbage if you order take out. You have to call the front desk and arrange for someone to pick it up from your room. The location also did not feel safe as there were numerous homeless people outside who were fighting in the street when I was there, but that's true for much of NYC these days.

Great location but rooms need to be overhauled

The employees are excellent as is the service they render. The location of the hotel is perfect for those interested in attending Broadway shows. A good kitchen. That said, the rooms need a total overhaul. Chipped cabinets, torn curtains, door with lock missing and not closing properly. Only one fork and 2 knives. Could use additional cutlery. This is my second time at the hotel and what brought me back were the employees. This time Laura was great and last year, Ken.

The room was delightfully and surprisingly quiet (for nyc.) There was a cute kitchenette. This was a last moment booking, made after midnight while in Time Square. When I arrived at the Paramount Hotel nearby, paid through Orbitz (never again-total nightmare) the Paramount Hotel had given my prepaid room away. Orbitz-no surprise-took no responsibility. The gentleman at the front desk of Candlewood was fantastic. Ditto for the staff.

Clean, safe, and close to everything

Convenient location, we walked or rode the subway everywhere. They had water in the lobby since it was hot. We had a kitchenette but chose to eat out. The room had a small recliner which was perfect for relaxing. I paid extra for a higher floor but all you could see were bricks and windows from the hotel next to us so it was wasted money.
