Felt like I was staying in a Motel 6.

Its not the Hyatt it used to be. It was like staying in a Motel 6. Being in the room or bathroom, you can smell cheapness. No breakfast offered yet they charge $40 per day in resort fee, why? there is no pool or a beach or a tennis court, why is it called a resort or have a resort fee? How do they get away with that?

Front desk people who help with checking in weren't so welcoming or patient, they just wanted to be rid of you quickly. Didn’t take time to explain the $15 expense per day. Me and my colleague checked in at different times with different people and were both confused with that policy. Otherwise a great hotel. Convenient location.

An additional $50/day "hotel charge" came out of nowhere. No in -room amenities such as coffee-maker, no free coffee in the lounge. We paid extra for the breakfast buffet which was awful. All staff were gracious and friendly. Beds were comfortable.

The property is very nice and I love the location, but the staff at the front desk really leave a lot to be desired. I have visited multiple times over the past 6 months and almost every time, I am ignored by the front desk staff while they talk to each other. When they finish their conversation, they wave me up. I have also stayed multiple times at the Westin Grand Central in this same time period and the difference in how I am greeted and treated when I go there is unbelievable. The front desk is welcoming, engaging, and kind. The staff at the Hyatt could learn a lot from them. I continued to stay at the Hyatt because I work in the Met Life building and it's nice not to have to go outside when it's so cold. I would also note that we had a wonderful waiter at the restaurant last week (I wish I remembered his name) and typically the staff in the market is very nice.

I give it a meh plus.

I’ll probably stay here again. I love the location. Good room. Decor a bit tired. Wallpapers need a refresh. I resent the BS fees. Stop nicely and dining your customers!

Nice but....

The rooms were nice and spacious (for NY standards) but they didn't have glasses or even a coffee maker, the housekeeping staff was tardy and the drain hole in my shower had no plug exposing the plumbing underneath, which was very unpleasant to see. The staff else was nice, we were there to celebrate a birthday and they gave us our requested floor.
