We had a great experience staying at the Hyatt for the weekend. We were allowed to check in early which was a big plus since we wanted to go walk around the city and not have to worry about our bags. The room was very clean and the staff was excellent with any questions we had. Will stay there again.

Staying at the Grand Hyatt Central New York

I attended the NGO CSW69/Beijing+30 Forum at the United Nations. I checked in, and the two young men at the counter were pleasant and very welcoming. They asked why I was visiting, offered me an upgrade, and told me about all the amenities in the hotel. I enjoyed the upgrade of my room, but the bathroom was tight.

Overall, this was an okay stay. The rooms were clean, but nothing special. We had a significant bathtub drainage issue, which was fixed an hour or so later. The lobby was nice. Staff was very good.

When I requested a room that was not directly in front of the elevator (due to noise and being a light sleeper) the front desk person became aggravated with me, ultimately calling my request ridiculous and raising their voice. They falsely told me that there were no double rooms left in the entire hotel--this was 30 mins after check-in opened, making it highly implausible. When I said I was trying to understand how that was possible, they said that the entire hotel was overbooked and that if I wanted a quiet room I should go elsewhere.
