Okay for what we needed for the night. Minimalistic. Door didn’t have 2nd chain lock, just the one single door lock on the 2nd floor. Simple 2 beds, no fridge or microwave. Shower was weak, water was lukewarm. Towels had hair. Shades didn’t work, AC was a small noisy window unit. Not bad for a quick one night stay. Staff were nice. Near Times Sq. Not enough outlets to charge phones and other electronics. It was okay.

It’s very accessible to tourist area and transportation is very good. But the hotel didn’t provide small refrigerator and microwave inside the room. The door in the bathroom won’t close.

The hotel is older but I really liked the style of it. The price for the location is great. Desk staff were wonderful. We had a room with one king bed and the size was good, room was comfortable and the window AC unit kept up with the 37 degree heat. Not a good hotel if you are planning to have a lot of meals in your room - no fridges/microwaves. We were only there for a few nights so this was not a problem. I will stay here again if I am back in NYC.

The Hotel St James is all we needed for our stay in New York. The location couldn't be better, just a 5 minute walk from Times Square & 5th Avenue. The rooms are clean & basic - bed, normal furniture, TV, bathroom, safe & air con. The staff are so helpful & pleasant. This was our 4th stay there, enough said!!!
