The hotel is a ghost of it's former past. The room was big and clean and thats where the accolades end. No restaurant, no bar, no services and I mean NONE! You cant even get a cup of coffee. Let me repeat that, you cannot get a cup of coffee at the Royalton. The staff was friendly enough and the doormen were terriffic but I doubt we'll stay there again

The Royalton has seen better days. The lobby is a cavernous wasteland of empty sofas and chairs=empty barstools (as they have no bar or any type of food in the building) There are no facilities, at all. One side of the lobby they do not even provide heat! The level of service at the hotel also leaves much to be desired, and when the rooms are only 250 square feet or less, there are far better options in NYC.Further be advised that if you travel with more than 2 bags, they may not fit in the elevator.

Staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, eager to assist. The condition of the hotel is not good - had to move rooms because the AC unit was rattling and loud; second room was not much better. Rooms are clean but rundown. Ventilation system is old and noisy. There is no room service or even coffee/tea making facilities in rooms, and not even glasses for water.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The first room I was checked into was absolutely filthy — nothing like the photos advertised. Dirty, disgusting, and completely unacceptable. After I complained, they moved me to another room, but instead of upgrading me to make up for the situation, they downgraded me. I booked through Orbitz, and when I asked to cancel and move to another hotel, neither the hotel nor Orbitz would help. The hotel refused to issue a refund, and Orbitz refused to stand by their customer. I was left scrambling to find another place to stay for the night, even though I was misled by false advertising and given unsanitary accommodations. False photos, dirty rooms, and terrible customer service — both from the hotel and Orbitz. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.
