This is the third time we have stayed at The Michelangelo, and we plan to stay there again. The location is great, the hotel older, but still lovely. Pricepoint is also good for Manhattan.

A disappointment!! The hotel from my experience was outdated, rundown, & poorly managed. I reserved a suite, requested a higher floor, & attempted to use the services offered, only for the hotel to fail repeatedly. My room was on the 3rd floor (so much for my request) with chips in the walls, a broken shelf, a torn shade, stained bar top, leaking showerhead, and multiple tears in the cushions of the love seat. So much so the cushions were by necessity placed backwards & upside down. Housekeeping showed up my first morning and my last day very early (0815ish), attempted to open the door w/o knocking, even though there was a do not disturb placed on the knob. when informed I wasn't leaving, the next thing I knew the phone is ringing asking me if I was checked out. This was the 1st morning of a 3 NIGHT stay! The front desk failed to enter the info correctly. The next morning, I gave room service the chance to improve my feeling for the Hotel. I placed the overnight order form out with a set time for delivery. They didn't show! When I called (pushed the direct line button for room service, 2 attempts) to inquire, there was no answer. I inquired at the front desk, and was told they tried to deliver but there was no answer. Complete BS, as we were awake & waiting for the delivery. Funny they couldn't use the phone to call the room that day! Outdated, overpriced, union staffed, crap, uncaring service. I'll never stay here again, & suggest others find a different hotel. FAIL!

The Michelangelo was a great escape from the loud craziness of downtown NY. It was quiet and beautiful. If you are going to a Broadway play, you cannot beat the location. The personnel at the Michaelangelo were friendly and accomodating. we enjoyed our stay!

I've stayed at this hotel four times in the past year, since discovering it last year. I love this hotel! It is grand and gracious, the rooms are huge, the bathroom is marble and gorgeous, the staff is great - so friendly! The location is absolutely perfect: walking distance from theaters, from Lincoln Center, great restaurants, shopping.
