Stayed Dec 13-17. Highest temperature with wind chill was 14 degrees. We had NO HEAT in our room. Called front desk and they sent up an engineer who reset the heat. We went out for the day and came in late and went straight to bed. Woke up freezing at 2am, no heat again. Front desk sent engineer up to reset heat. Went down for breakfast and then out for the day. Came back late that night and no heat. Front desk sent engineer up to reset heat. Continued until day 3. On day 3 we switched rooms. We went from 703 to 1310. We were ready to finally get warm. The room was warm when we entered and an hour later the heat went off. Called the front desk they sent up an engineer. The engineer said he had just worked on the heat in that room 2 days prior and had put the room out of service and did not know it was back in service. He reset the unit from the engineer closet next-door and said he was putting the room out of service again. We had to have the heat reset in that room three times on the third day and four times on the 4th day with late check out. After speaking with other hotel guest on the elevators and during breakfast, this was a recurring problem in multiple rooms throughout both Townplace Suites and Springhill Suites, as both hotels share the same building. We were given a partial refund, but it did not make up for the discomfort of not having heat. Will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend. Miserable stay. One positive was two floors of dining space.

The hotel was renovated 4 yrs ago, according to staff, and it was superb. The bed and feather pillows were amazing. Sleep is most important to me. It is a narrow hotel: my room shared a wall with an elevator. I never heard it the soundproofing is so good. I recommend the two rooms in between the elevators (xx06 and xx08) because they have a mini corridor with a second door to block noise from the main corridor. It was awesome. The down side was Tokyoesque storage for clothes, aka almost none. But you adapt.

The elevators are so slow! We waited 20 minutes one time and it never came. My mom has a bad knee, but we ending up taking the stairs down from the 11th floor.

Hotel seems fairly new and in good condition. First, the good. Excellent hot breakfast. The OK. Bed was comfortable and shower was OK. Bathroom was very small. Location was just OK. 28th St is crowded with plant companies displaying their products in the sidewalk and street. Street is almost always heavy traffic. The bad. Room is tiny. We rese3rved because of fridge in room. The kitchenette takes up over 1/3 of the space. Very small closet (about 14" wide). No chest to put clothes in so if you are staying several nights you can't really unpack. Also no chair in the room Had to sit on the bed. Elevators are a joke. Only 4 for 46 floors and one was broken. We were on a lower floor. During busy times of day, the elevators going down fill up in the by about the 35th floor. Then you get a voice saying "this elevator is full" and it goes straight down skipping anyone waiting on a lower floor. Definitely would not recommend nor would we stay here ever again. Be careful when you book to look at the photos of the rooms.

Business Traveler: My room is small yet clean with a well equipped kitchen. The bathroom is clean with good water pressure and abundant hot water - shower only. Sound dampening is low. (If you need a quiet room, then this is not the hotel for you.) Typical free hotel food. Fortunately, there are many excellent restaurants within walking distance. The 28th Street subway entrance is just a few steps away, too. Conveniently located at Seventh Avenue and 28th Street. MQ Traveler

Room is nice but small. There is a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, coffee machine and toaster. There is a long mirror, narrow wardrobe and huge tv. Bathroom has a sliding door that has gaps either side - not ideal! Shower was ok. The flush on the toilet stopped working, when reported they fixed it right away and apologised, but it broke again! Lifts - hit and miss, sometimes we waited at least 5 minutes for a lift from our floor, but didn’t wait too long from the lobby. Free breakfast was nice, different choice each day and despite being busy we never had to wait for a table. Free tea and coffee in the lobby, and snacks to purchase. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Overall the location is great! Nice street with lots of florists, and a subway station and each end of the street making it really convenient for any sightseeing you want to do.
