We had a great mother/daughter long weekend stay! The room was clean and the beds were so comfortable! The staff was very helpful offering coupons for wine tasting and guidance for our visit. We will definitely be back!

After staying at this Howard Johnson's, I understand why it gets such high marks. The staff is terrific. Check in was seamless. And the room and building in general was clean and comfortable. We also really appreciated the great options for breakfast and the ease of getting to downtown Newport. Would highly recommend to fellow travelers!

Upon arrival into the room the lamps were unplugged and the room was pretty dark. We were also given a corner room on the first floor which was right by the street. A lot of traffic throughout the night made it hard to sleep. There was like a speed bump right outside the window which you heard every time a car drove by. The towel paper holder was also broken.

Check in was HORRIBLE!! Employee was curt, didn't make eye contact, dismissive and generally rude. Facility is nice enough but with such poor customer service, I'll NEVER recommend Howard Johnson, particularly this one!! Look elsewhere if you value being treated courteously.
