Staff was great! Air conditioning in room was incredibly loud. Bottom level rooms can hear every movement from floor above! Didn’t sleep much as our upstairs neighbors were up all night and incredibly loud! It’s a great location, but unfortunately was unable to sleep in our particular unit!😞

The best thing about the Colonial Inn is the location. It's in the perfect spot for exploring Ogunquit, and you can walk anywhere (downtown, the beach and the Marginal Mile). And there are some good features about the property -- the continental breakfast is solid, and you can eat on the wraparound porch...and there's a nice fire pit. However, we stayed in a 2 queen room in one of the outer buildings, and it was basically a glorified motel room. It's clean. And functional. But that's about it -- which is fine, except when you book an "historic" inn, you expect a certain level of charm, which is very much lacking. It's an average place that seems entirely overpriced. So stay for the location...but not for any sense of Maine history.

I liked the convenience plus the staff and the room There were some electrical issues that concerned me they had a microwave that burnt out on us i had to tell the front desk which they did a fine job replacing it i wish they would repair the electrical issue there was an extension cord for the refrigerator and the microwave instead of a standard plug ...otherwise we had a wonderful time. Just wish too the hot water was a little more hot!

Room was dirty , problems with check in, couldn't get a check out receipt. Access to room was very difficult. Black mold on bathroom bathtub hand rails, bathroom sink stopped up. Food offering for breakfast was sparse and not worth it. Sheet was took big for bed and kept slipping off all the time. Towels were scratchy Room was dirty , problems with check in, couldn't get a check out receipt. Access to room was very difficult. Through a very narrow and long balcony that had cleaning supplies blocking the access.Black mold on bathroom bathtub hand rails, bathroom sink stopped up. Food offering for breakfast was sparse and not worth it. Sheet was took big for bed and kept slipping off all the time. Towels were scratchy Pool lounge furnture was dirty and had not been cleaned in some time. Staff kept blaming me for using a 3rd party app like Expedia to book the room. Claimed we had not paid even though we paid 50%, then upon final payment at check out they refused to give me a receipt claiming that they dont give receipts to 3rd party bookings since they do not get paid directly. Yet they took my credit card and billed me in full, and they wouldn’t give me a receipt. I have never experienced something like this before. Finally, room had one window which faced another building about 4 feet away so no light cam into the room. Room was dark and dingy and dirty… Breakfast was a joke, one must go out to get a breakfast, basically all they had was cereal and yogurt.

What a great down home hotel! Comfortable, lovely, quiet, and huge! A large and beautiful veranda, heated pool and hot tub. Large pretty room with ocean view, complimentary ice cream, breakfast, and warm fresh baked cookies. Trolley stop in front of the hotel, and easy access to down town and the marginal way. It’s got it all!

End of a long trip

We were looking for a convenient, walkable location in Ogunquit as the last night of vacation and The Colonial Inn fit the bill. Once there, we were able to park and walk and explore. Dinner was walkable as well which is perfect given the heavy traffic the last weekend of Summer. It is also very close to the Marginal Way. The rooms were good size for our family of 4. The beds may be considered soft for some but I found them comfortable. Breakfast was basic but the afternoon cookies made up for that. The porch was a lovely place to enjoy breakfast or the coffee that is offered 24/7. A nice hotel in a perfect location for our family.

We loved the location and experience, and will definitely come back. Our unit had entrance on a quiet back road, so it was away from the noise and crowds, yet 5 minutes from the part of ogunquit we love being in.

The Colonial Inn is very pretty. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub. The hotel is in walking distance to the downtown area with lots of nice shops and restaurants. It is also in walking distance to the beach and to the access of Marginal Way. Everyone who was working at the hotel was very professional and pleasant. Our room was very clean, pretty, and comfortable. The breakfast which was included was great. We loved how they offered some surprises such as snacks, piano entertainment, and a wine tasting during our stay. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to The Colonial Inn soon.
