For starters we booked a nonsmoking room and received a smoking room, so we walk in and are met with a very dingy smell. The room did not feel clean, there were multiple spots on the walls, and we felt the need to check for bugs thoroughly. After traveling we of course wanted to shower and there is low water pressure, and the hotel soap smells exactly like play-do. We try to stream a show and the hotel wifi can't keep up with that. The AC doesn't actually cool the room, and the constant fan changes nothing, it turned off and on constantly. The next morning we wake up to the power going out, which took a few hours to come back on. We reached out about the smoking room and they were fully booked so nothing could be done. Later though there was a cancelation so they called and offered to let us switch if we could do it in the next 20 minutes, which was nice, but we were there on vacation and weren't at the hotel at the time. Finally Expedia lists the check out time as 12, but it is actually 11. Just a small mess up but it would've cost us a bit of money if we hadn't noticed. I couldn't believe that this was actually a best western, and if I could've refunded and found a new place I would've the minute I stepped in the room.

We’ve stayed in this hotel before and it was fine. The main problem this time is that I reserved a non-smoking room (are there still smoking rooms?) and I have young kids, and the room was filled with cigarette smoke stench. The odor was strong enough to give me a headache. Other than that, oglesby is a nice place to stay on a long road trip, and the hotel was otherwise clean and fine, just a bad room this time around.

Our second night there, I found a cockroach in the bathtub. I went to the front desk and they said usually they would move rooms but they were booked.....understandable. I tried other hotels in the area and they were also booked. We were told to talk to the manager in the morning. Talked with her, and the best she could was give us 25% off our next stay there. But we had to book through them, not Expedia. Having to stay the night knowing there is cockroaches is definitely worth more than 25% off. Probably will not be going back there, even for the 25% savings. But will definitely be leaving reviews. On the plus side, the pool was warmer than most hotels.

The bathroom was small. The toilet was as small aversion as I have ever seen. The coffee pot was dirty with crud in the water bowl. Breakfast was continental at best. I found the bed comfortable and a quiet place to sleep.

Overall the experience was good. Breakfast was good, hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Our only complaint was there was no place to sit outside (especially if you’re a smoker and want to sit outside for a morning coffee and smoke)

It went great until I asked for 2 days in a row to get clean bed sheets only to be ignored & then when mentioned I was told I gave wrong room# & staff gave me a attitude so with that being said I won’t be staying there next time I’m in town I will take my business where they appreciate their customers & realize we are the ones who make their check
