Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
not what i expect
arrived at 10.30 pm from abroad - had alerted the hotel when booking, but receptionist was complaining reception closed at 11 pm. Hotel room was dirty - sheets on the floor, towels in the shower. Went down again, receptionist said he had already switched off the computer and wanted to go home but 'pas de problemes' (?) would find another room. Browsed to find a clean room ''but most available rooms were bigger' , 'in the worst case he would have to give me a bigger one', finally found a small room that had been cleaned. Next day, when i checked out, i mentioned to (another) receptionist that i had had to change rooms during the night, and he said 'yes, i heard, mais cest pas grave, pas de soucis' (?). No apologies, customer service non existant. did not feel welcome.
Really super, almost boutique style hotel. Great service, superb location for line 9 or 10 metro. Lots of bars restaurants and shops 2 minutes walk. Walking (or fun E-scooter) distance from Roland Garros. We loved it, sure you will too. Downside was wifi wasnt working whilst we stayed there so added to cost as needed to buy more data. Special mention to young girl working on sunday, very pleasant and lovely smiley welcome in the morning. If we return for RG we will look to stay here again. We found Monoprix shop, just 2 minutes away, a great place for v healthy snacks. Walked to the seine and a lovely park just down boulevard jean jaures (sp). Nice spot for quiet afternoon. Didnt eat breakfast but it looked fresh and fine for a quick continental. Lovely small courtyard to relax in, unfortunately so many French still smoke! Great trip.
STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
1. Cheats! They told us breakfast was included in our booking when we checked in, but when we checked out, they wanted to charge us €80 for breakfast! When we refused to pay as we did not agree to paying this beforehand, the old blonde lady told us that even though the hotel staff made a mistake, that we still have to pay for some of the breakfast to help fix the mistake They made! When we refused, that rude lady called us “small” for not wanting to pay for THEIR MISTAKE!
They are ridiculous for not taking full responsibility for their own mistakes! It is not how a good business should be managed, and they need to get a new management team!
That old blonde lady should be FIRED! Her attitude was terrible and Rude! She gives French people a bad name! And all guests should STEER CLEAR of this Terrible place!
2. Terrible Service! They didn’t refill our toilet paper, the bath gels/shampoos, etc. It is usually a standard common practice to refill things, but apparently, not here.
3. Noisy! A building across this hotel has roof top parties. They blast their music sooooo loud, it’s like the club was inside our room! I couldn’t sleep all night and the music didn’t die down until 3am? 4am?
4. The rooms are TINY! Can barely open a suitcase on the ground.
5. No AC in the room, so it can get Hot in there. And after a long day of sightseeing, not having AC is terrible.
The room was clean and well decorated. The room overall was small with a view of a brick wall. This was not an issue as we were out all day. The double bed seemed smaller than average and there was very little space on what had been described as a family room. The bathroom was very small and the shower curtain stuck to you as you attempted to wash yourself. Bedding and towels were changed regularly.and the room was very clean and well looked after. Staff on reception were very friendly and helped with directions and maps. The room I booked would have been perfect for a single traveller, however as I was travelling with my 15 year old, the family room we were allocated felt quite snug. Nevertheless, it was a base and we only used the room for sleep so it was not a huge problem and, in my opinion, not worth making a fuss about.
If you are going to the Parc des Princes (Paris Saint Germain's home ground), Roland Garros tennis, want to be near the Bois de Boulogne or simply stay out of the city but with easy access to it, this is an excellent and friendly hotel, close to the Metro and in a part of Paris that feels like a small town rather than a big city.
Overall, it was pretty good. The staff were great, very friendly, and helpful. The location was great for what we wanted, which was to be near the Parc des Princes for a PSG soccer game. We had a few issues with the room - it definitely needed some vacuuming - I think the last time it saw a vacuum was eons ago. It was also very tiny. Not much room to move around, but after all it is Paris. This was more of an issue for my boyfriend than me. We also didn't like the fact that there was a shower curtain in the shower.... those things are very grimy and not very cleanly. But all in all, it was a good experience and we would go back.
2 mins walk away from Marcel-Sembat metro station and then 20 mins into centre of Paris, whats not to like. Surrounding area is quite nice and felt very safe with a few bars and restaurants and McDonalds and KFC for those who prefer. Try the pattiserie near the metro, very nice. Host on first night was very helpful with getting us cheaper parking (free on Easter wkd) which we would not have known about so was really good. Room was very dusty in places and small but then this is Paris
Chose this hotel for its proximity to Longchamp racecourse. Typical small French hotel - 20 rooms over 5 floors. Room small but very tastfully decorated and imaculately clean. Bathroom small but totally functional.
Garden courtyard a little gem for relaxing and breakfasting.
Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. A few days before our visit we received an email direct from the hotel welcoming us and giving helpful hints about our arrival.
Only slight downside was the lift broke on our second day and had not been repaired when we left 2 days later (but it was the weekend) - we were on the 5th floor!!!
We will definitely use the hotel next time we are in Paris and would recommend it to anyone wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of central Paris. There is a Metro station just around the corner should you wish to see the sights.
