The snow pile in our room provided evidence of just how cold it was and had i booked directly through the hotel, i would have been reimbursed. I would appreciate being contacted by expedia to get reimbursed at least in part. I have a picture to support the issue.

The townhouse that i booked showed pictures of beautiful bedrooms etc and the reality did not match. The house had 3 bedrooms as stated but they were all individual rooms that needed a key to enter. Our kids had to sleep downstairs from us because the townhome wasn't one entity. The townhouse was so run down and dirty. Everything from the couch to the broken window shades in a few rooms, the rug up the stairs was gross and looked like it had been there since the 70’s. The walls, furniture etc were scratched and should be thrown out. The housekeeping staff was nice but didn't really clean the rooms—they would make the bed and leave. This place needs to be completely updated down to the tacks. Also it was impossible to get food to the room. There was no room service. The parking lot & walking areas were like a skating rink. When i asked if they used salt etc to get rid of the ice which was treacherous to walk on. They said that only rocks were used which clearly wasnt effective. The spa experience was great. The two masseuses we had were amazing. I felt like we should get our money back since it was expensive and the description & pictures did not at all match the reality and the townhome was in such bad shape.

We enjoyed our stay at the Equinox. We enjoyed the meals we had there and the general atmosphere. Front desk staff on Sunday, 2/16, could have been a bit more pleasant and/or helpful. One of the women at the desk was not particularly friendly or helpful in terms of what do with kids in the area during a storm. Also, there should be more coffee urns in the lobby to accommodate the volume of guests. I also thought they could have done a better job shoveling and salting the parking lot which was quite icy and treacherous.

I purchased my room on Expedia because my other room at another hotel at the Kimpton Taconic Manchester was not available for check in at 5pm. I had to wait 20 minutes at the front desk of Equinox for systems to update on their end to see my reservation even though I saw it right away. The front desk staff was indifferent whether I was able to get the room. They were offering the same room at a higher price so they were not incented to promote Expedia saying if I booked directly with them at higher price I would have been immediately able to get my room. There was also a hold up on getting their ‘service fee’ approved.

Starting with the positives… Equinox property, spa and main hotel is beautiful. Front desk staff was helpful. Cleaning team does a great job given the age of the property. Negatives for us were not getting into our room until 6pm. Hidden cleaning fees for the Townhouses on top of the resort fees. The TV in the family room was broken. We called 6x during the course of 3 days and were told someone would fix it and they never did. The townhouses were as clean as they could be given they are in desperate need of TLC and updates. There is mold in the closets which is super concerning. Pool is beautiful and hot tub is super fun in the snow but the puddling around the pool is a definite safety hazard for small children. And gross for adults. I hate sharing negative feedback but I know it’s helpful to the hotel so they can improve and also for travelers with young kids when deciding where to stay/how to spend their money.

Vermont Getaway

We had a lovely stay with our dog in this historic and charming Southern Vermont sprawling property. The common areas were a delight and the food was very well crafted and served with local ingredients. From the sauna to the hiking trails to the complimentary coffee/tea bar to the live music to the amazing cocktails — nothing disappointed.

I have visited this property over a span of 20 years, and while it has so much potential, the property is dilapidated. No hot water in showers, peeling paint and wall paper, and a mixed level of service. We will not stay here angain until there's a true renovation.
