The main building was absolutely gorgeous however we stayed in the Palmer building which left a lot to be desired. First off it smelled moldy and felt damp. The hallways were disgusting, wallpaper peeling, old carpeting, very unappealing. They are doing a great disservice to their property by keeping the Palmer building in such a sad state of disrepair.

This hotel is advertised as a "resort" (and even charges a $38 resort fee) but this was more like staying at my grandmother's house than a $400/night hotel. After checking in Church Landing and being directed to our hotel, Mill Falls Resort, we never saw another staff member, even when we went to the wrong building, the Chase House. There was no staff in either building and we had to ask other guests for help finding our room. There was no one to greet us, no one to ask about food/dining or where to park. There was no one to prevent strangers from simply walking into the hotel through the automatic doors. The hotel room itself is very dated and the bathroom (complete with peeling wallpaper) was completely underequipped. The only amenities were four travel sized bottles--2 lotion, one body wash that was apparently supposed to be for both washing our bodies and our hands as there was no hand soap, and a "conditioning shampoo"--didn't even splurge for separate conditioner. There was no refridgerator and our windows had some kind of film on them so we couldn't really see out--although our view was of the highway not the lake. I would have asked about this if there had been any staff to talk to in the building. If I had paid $200 for this room, I would have chalked it to me just mediocrity and not even bothered to leave a review. But paying over $400 for a room that didn't even provide us with soap to wash our hands was too much. I would emphatically not recommend.

Beautiful spot

I was in Meredith for a work event Friday evening and booked a one night stay so I didn't have to travel home after the event and spend the day in Meredith before heading home Monday evening. The hotel was convenient, clean, and comfortable. The event was at one of the other Mills Falls Resorts and they did a great job. The area was beautiful and the Palmer Inn is located right in the middle of shops and restaurants and across from the lake making everything accessible.

The real problem with milks falls is that they have various hotels around Meredith and do not provide a shuttle service despite some properties being 1/4 mile away from the check in desk, and event center…I stayed to attend a gala and it was extremely inconvenient…additionally the rooms at the Palmer inn have a late 60s grandma style and desperately need to be updated…highly disappointed
