3 day stay at old orchard beach inn

This is a dump. In 3 days we saw 1 employee. The one who checks you in. Room was horrible. Bed a joke. Seats horrible. Coffee only in lobby which had no sugar, dark roast only, no water for coffee maker. Paper thin walls. Difficult steps for floor 2 and 3. Toilet paper thinnest ever made. No kleenex. No towel replacement. Toiletries a joke. I am telling you, dont pay for this inn.

I had to knock off 1 star for 3 reasons: the room had no curtains so at night it wasnt dark due to outdoor lights, & when the sun came up at 5a the room was broad daylight, the beds were really uncomfy-the twin was hard as a rock-they are really old, you could see the box spring was sagging on one, i can do bad beds but i cant do no curtains & the pool needs some help The filter opening has mildew in it & they either need a pool vacuum or teach someone to use it. Other than that the house is lovely, as is the staff There are 2 properties, The OOB Inn & the Atlantic Birches I stayed at the Birches. Check in was confusing because it isnt noted in the description that it is actually at the Birches property. They are right next to each other so it wasnt a huge deal, but if I hadnt run into an employee I would not have known what to do The sign at the desk said to go to property 3 but theres no info on what that means. It should say "next to the pool next door". Breakfast is at the Birches. The outside of the OOB Inn needs alot of work, the photos are OLD, but the insides are really beautiful & tastefully decorated. The room I was in looked brand new. I will also be reviewing on Google Maps if you want to see pics. I would def make this my go to spot if they replace the beds & put in curtains.

The hotel was nice and easy walking distance to the beach. We stayed in the suite. I booked for 6 people, we had one that couldn't make it. Luckily because it only sleeps 5. And there were sheets but no blanket or pillow for the cot. No extra blanket or pillows anywhere and staff was gone other night by the time we realized this. Kitchen was not well supplied. No glasses, just coffee cups. Also in the description it needs to note that the suite is on the third floor with no elevator.

Loved the quaint cottage we were given a room in. It was a bit dusty in some spots, but nothing too noticeable. The linens were crisp and clean. The decorations were adorable and the room was well kept up as you can tell it’s an older building, as many New England Inns are. The continental breakfast was often out of the hot food options, but found all the other items to be well stocked. Staff were friendly and accommodating and even allowed us to leave our car after check to return for a bit more time at the beach.

It was true to the description, it met our needs for a night, I felt very safe, nice to be so close to the Beach but the road is noisy with cars at night. Outside of building and grounds could use some maintenance work but I felt the price reflected the area and quality of the inn.

Not what we expected. We checked in at 4 and checked out at 8pm the same night because of the cleanliness, very limited space. The room walls were so pitched you couldn’t sit on your bed without hitting your head. Very shocked at what the look was considering online pictures were nice. Pool was 3 inns over and not clean. We did not stay because of this. Left and rented elsewhere.

Outside of the property was clean, had a pool and a place to have breakfast. Room was good size,
Our bed was fine, just don't know why one pillow was larger than the other, but we had a spare just in case.

Easy check-in, very quiet around the property, nice to see there is a pool now that they acquired the inn next door. Plenty of parking. It was nice to have a split unit air conditioner. My room was very spacious, plenty of space to put your beach chair/bag. The breakfast was busy and could have had quicker turn around to fill the hot food and breads. Overall, a great place to stay that includes breakfast and you can’t beat the location!

First let me say, we knew it was an Inn and therefore knew it wouldn’t be “modern”. However, we expected basic comfort. The bed is an old school, bare bones coil mattress that feels like it hasn’t been replaced since the 1980’s. Very uncomfortable. Lots of windows equals nice natural light during the day. If you like to sleep in? Not gonna happen. You have sheer curtains and thin plastic blinds, you’re up when the sun comes up. The WiFi is very spotty, the tv didn’t even seem to have a signal as most of the channels wouldn’t play. The Inn sits very close to the road so expect a decent amount of traffic noise. Easy walk to the pier and shops, nice porch with plenty of seating, Adirondack chairs in the yard and a small but nice pool area. The Inn was very clean, just not comfortable.

We thought our stay was fantastic. Great location, great staff, great times. The only this is our room smelled a little stuffy, even with the AC running, but that could just be because the building was over 100 years old.

Not worth the cost

We arrived to a mediocrely cleaned room, big on the windowsill and crud on the floor. The ceiling fan didn’t work and the windows were all open so we closed the room and went with window ac. The hotel stayed daily housekeeping and we didn’t receive that. Paid 625$ for 2 nights and was not worth it. Bed was like a cardboard box, and didn’t have enough towels so had to go to front desk for additional and then had to use them for 2 days. Told the front desk when we checked out and he said nope we do rooms every other day. Needless to say I won’t be returning.
