We enjoyed Riverview Inn

This was a very unique hotel, the rooms were very spacious and we enjoyed out stay. The only reason I did not give a 5 start is because we were planning to have breakfast on the morning of our departure and there was no breakfast due to employee not coming into work. Otherwise it was a great stay.

I had higher expectations for this property, however my stay was quite disappointing. You can hear noise from the rooms nearby as if you are in the same room with them. Another patron of the hotel was so loud, yelling , laughing, engaging in sexual intercourse. Multiple complaints were made by numerous guests but they continued to allow them to stay. We overheard staff tell them finally at 3am, this is the last time, or we'll call the police. Too late, they allowed this disgraceful behavior to occur for over 5 hours. We didnt get any sleep and had our 2 young children with us. Then for their continental breakfast which other reviewers said was excellent, consisted of boxed cereal and packaged pastries. We paid 280.00 for one night, for that kind of money stay elsewhere.

Check in and check out was quick and easy. We got a river view room and our window had very dirty hard water staining or damaged windows so we couldn’t see much and the “good side” of the window was constantly covered by the curtains that did not stay in place. When getting ready for bed I pulled the quilt up and saw a dot of old blood on it, it’s not a big dot of blood but still gross. Called and notified the front desk and he asked me “is it on the quilt”, he was very prompt with bringing us new a new quilt but I was very disappointed finding old blood on the quilt. We would’ve asked for a new room but we had a very exhausted 2 year old with us that needed to get to bed. Breakfast could be better, food was not kept up with, and very dirty forks with old food crusted on them. Room we got was alright sink pipe started leaking after we washed our hands. Would I come here again probably not..

The staff went out of their way to answer all of questions about the history of the property. They went above and beyond every time we wanted something. There aren't many hotels left with this amount of character on their property and this was has character in spades. We started planning for our next trip before we even left. We even think we might use it for our next business party or conference.

The room was nice. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent (Oak & Embers) with great vegan menu items as well. The morning breakfast would have been better with vegan options as well.

Elevated comfort.

We stayed prior to a flight out of RFD to Mexico. The service was excellent from the time we walked in the doors until our check-out the next morning. Our room was comfortable, clean, very nice. We ate dinner and had drinks at the onsite restaurant. food was delicious and the service was most enjoyable. Presley was warm & welcoming at the front desk. Great fist impression.

good place to stay

Staff here was very welcoming and helpful. Rooms seemed clean but lighting could definitely be better. It is an older property that could definitely use some updates and sound proofing, you can hear everything between the rooms and down the halls. With that said i would still come back because the staff is great, was clean and breakfast is homemade and delicious!
