I like the location of the property. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the room I wanted on the top floor. Also, at 7am yesterday someone was trying to get into our room and we kept telling them they had the wrong room. That was a little unsettling to keep hearing somone trying to come into the room.

When I arrived they could not find my room, I had reserved 2 rooms under one reservation and another room under a different reservation. The single reservation had been checked in and given the room assigned to me, not a big deal as it was my in-laws and the reservation was for my parents and myself. They apparently checked both rooms in when my parents checked in, again not such a big issue but still lots of confusion as the employees were confused on who was in what room.
Biggest issue was that we checked in on a Thursday and checked out on Sunday, was told that housekeeping came every other day. Did not receive any housekeeping services the entire time that we were there for any of the 3 rooms. Actually used Food Lion bags to bag and remove our own trash as the trash can was very small and was full by Saturday. Did not have any shower gel in the shower, requested and shampoo was dropped outside of the door. Had to request towels as they were never replaced in the room nor were used towels removed. Ran out of toilet paper as there was only one partial roll at check in, again had to go to front desk to request. When we checked in the night stand was covered in a stick substance as well as the TV remote. I did speak with someone as we checked out and she did not seem concerned, she told me that housekeeping goes not come every day and I explained to her that we had been there since Thursday.
I will say that my son enjoyed the pool & the lobby was cleaner than our room.
We stayed there for only a handful of hours as we were passing by and need to rest a bit however, it was an amazing experience beginning to end. The young man that checked us in was so polite and thoughtful. When we got to the room we needed help with the curtain and the gentlemen that assisted us from maintenance was TRUly :) an asset to the company. He went above and beyond to assist and furthermore, you can honestly tell in his voice and how he speaks that he is proud to work for that specific location. Great team and staff! Tru Hotel never disappoints but this one went above and beyond
We like Tru hotels for the pool table in the lobby. We have stayed at the Fairfield Tru before and that one was better taken care of. Our room at the Rocky Mount Tru had hair in the shower and balls of hair on the floor. Sort of gross. Breakfast was good and Outback was an easy walk. Close to 95 for easy stop with travel.
The toilet in our room wouldn’t flush. Called front desk guy came to the room looked at it and said he was going to talk to the manager but he never showed back up. Went to the front desk asked the manager about it he said he didn’t talk to him. The manager got a plunger and we went to the room I plunged the toilet myself because the manager didn’t know how too. It seem ok. But the next morning it wouldn’t flush again.
