We did not have a wonderful experience here. The room was not very clean, including a large sticky spot on the carpet, broken furnishings, cobwebs, and hair in the bathroom when we arrived. It was overall a very dated and not well-maintained room.The Northern Lights Cafe was the only on-site dining available and was very disappointing- we only made that mistake once. We also had to ask multiple times to try to get hot water to our room, which was never fully resolved. Over the course of four days, we never had a complete day with hot water. There are some nice aspects of the hotel, including nightly make-your-own-smores, some fun family games set up in common areas, a nice-looking reception area, and a heated pool. We really enjoyed the area surrounding the hotel for hiking and being outdoors. The people were mostly friendly and tried to be helpful, especially Emmit from maintenance. I wish we could say we loved it, but in the words of my teenager- we just had to stick it out and get through it.

A disappointing stay. The property is dated, but the rooms are spacious and the beds are great. We have stayed here in the past for skiing as it is ski in, ski out, but you are not at the main mountain. We have never had issues in the winter months. This time the experience was not good. The hotel was hosting a large group of campers for the week. We were on the second floor and the campers had the rooms on the third floor above us. It sounded like they were WWE wrestling all night, slamming against the floor. We alerted the front desk who attempted to resolve this several times, but it was ongoing. Im not sure why the hotel did not put them on the 1st floor to avoid this type of a situation. We had requested a late check out, normally at 10:30am and they had told us they could give us an 11am check out and for $30/ hr could extend this. To 1:00 as requested - As a compromise to the noise the hotel offered us a late checkout. We took our time in the morning and used the outdoor pool and hot tub, which is wonderful. When we came in to shower and leave there was no water. Apparently there was a repair necessary, but the hotel never alerted any of the guests that the water was shut off. We only had about 45 minutes before our checkout and unfortunately we’re not able to shower after being in the pool. I was very surprised that the hotel did not let us know that the water had been shut off. The front desk apologized but there was nothing they could do.

Great Service & Old Rooms

We found the staff to be incredible. The service was excellent. Unfortunately they still do bookings off season and because of this they allow bookings when all of the restaurants on the property are closed. Further, the rooms are VERY dated. Peeling paint on the balconies, dirty walls near the shower. The lobby is impeccable and the rooms are disappointing. I’d love to come back in-season but I hope they remodel the rooms.

Nice Hotel to access Jordan Bowl at Sunday River

The rooms here are lovely - not fancy, but spacious and comfortable. We stay here to access the Jordan ski lift, so the only downside is that if the lift isn't running (which it wasn't on one of our days, due to wind) you must take a shuttle to the other side of the mountain to ski. Still, we had a nice dinner in the restaurant, the people were friendly and we loved the cookies and hot beverages in the lobby when we arrived.
