Lake Front Cottage Retreat

Charming lake front cottage with expansive deck and unbelievable views of Lake Michigan, just steps away to the beach. Recently remodeled, this cottage is bright and clean with a lake-front master bedroom and bath, and lake-front living room and kitchen. All bedrooms (two with King beds, a double, two twins, and a sleeper sofa) as well as the main living spaces are on the main floor. There is also a game room with TV, DVDs and a DVD player on the main floor. High speed WiFi included.

The lower level offers the convenience of an extra full bath, a washer and dryer, an extra refrigerator/freezer , and a sitting/game area.

There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to take in the amazing surroundings.

This cottage is indeed right on the water and we have a great beach for 2025 ! 120 foot frontage with a wide sandy beach for swimming, splashing, snoozing. Sunsets included!

Wow! We loved our stay here! Our family came together from MN, MO, MT and IL and had a blast. The beach was fabulous and we spent every sunny day down there. We mostly cooked in house but ventured out to Deb’s (for the best cinnamon roll breakfast sandwich!) Whippy Dip, and Farmhouse. We loved watching the sunset from the deck each evening. Kitchen was well equipped and loved having a crockpot available to use. We’d love to come back next year!

This is our 4th year at this cottage. The space is very clean and the owner is very responsive. The beach was great as usual. We had algae in the water this year but that is not common. The kitchen is well stocked as are the bathrooms. We appreciate the extra beach towels.

What a perfect location! Check in was simple and the host responded to my questions very quickly. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, and having 3 bathrooms helped a lot with a large family. The deck facing the lake is large also, so there was room for everyone gathering to watch the gorgeous sunsets. There is a small path that leads to 8 steps, then a short boardwalk leading to about 10 more steps, and then your feet are in the sand on the beach! There is a second refrigerator in the garage which was extremely helpful to store our meals for the week. I definitely recommend this lake house!

What a wide and gorgeous beach! You also have beautiful views of the lake from the deck and a quick walk down on steps and through the sand. We enjoyed many walks on the beach and the fact that it was sandy (not rocky) all the way out. The sunsets were amazing!The house was comfy and welcoming, although we spent the majority of time outdoors. We had cool enough weather to keep the house comfortable at night, but bring fans for the back rooms that can get stuffy. We appreciated being able to use the beach towels, too. Highly recommend if you want a stunning setting!

I absolutely love being on the beach. You can hear and see the beach from this cottage.This cottage had almost everything we needed. It was warm a few nights and air conditioning would have improved our stay this year. Overall I LOVE this cottage!

North Cottage

We’ve been going to the lake for over 30 years and our overall rating of the beach at the house is A+ and probably the best beach we’ve enjoyed ever. Right with North Beach in Pentwater. We have to give the house a c though. Front entrance from driveway had a fair amount of trash around bins; No A/C , which I missed in listing, is a deal breaker. When it’s hot the window vents do not ventilate the home well. Rude neighbors. Overall, because of the beach and our desire to have fun no matter the situation, we’ll say B grade.

Great view

The house was very comfortable and we all enjoyed bringing our dogs. We loved the closeness to the lake and ease of getting to the beach. Unfortunately, the whole week we had freezing cold lake water and green slime, which prevented most people from going in the lake.

Lovely family trip

Lake Michigan Cottage

Property was amazing! Very clean and plenty of room for all ten people and pets. The house was exactly as described on the listing and the beach was great! We enjoyed the local area and loved the markets and restaurants nearby. Will definitely be back and hope to rent the same house. Thank you!

Lake Michigan View

The cottage was bright and the view of Lake Michigan was beautiful. The access to the beach was really nice and there were not many people on the beach. The basement which I did not use except to come and go had an odd odor and seemed to have a dehumidifying system that worked continuously. Small problem with fruit flies in the cottage and they seemed drawn to the garbage disposal. The approach to the cottage makes it look a bit abandoned and since it was okay for dogs it might have been nice to have a little patch of grass for them. Those are all little things, my stay was very nice and fairly comfortable. Thanks for the Michigan beach vacation.

Beautiful views, excellent beach!

We had a great time on our trip! James was very easy to communicate with and was able to let my parents in to the cabin when they arrived before us and the code wouldn’t work. The views cannot be beat and you couldn’t ask for a better beach. We loved watching the sunsets each night. Comfy beds too! Some additional feedback: if you have toddlers or mobile babies, the deck doesn’t have a rail which means constant vigilance while you’re out there. Kinda makes it hard to relax haha. The cabin doesn’t have AC and on warmer days the afternoon sun makes the cabin VERY stuffy so bring fans. There are ceiling fans but some don’t reach top speeds. Suggestion to the owners would be window treatments for the kitchen/living room windows to help cool off during the hottest parts of the day. Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation, and we thank the owners for our lovely stay.

Fantastic Vacation

Our family of five stayed here with our two dogs and we had the best week to close out summer vacation. The location was great. Quiet, quaint community with markets and restaurants nearby. The house was well equipped, comfortable, and clean. The beds were super cozy and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was the best. It was a pleasant surprise to find a great supply of dishwasher tabs, dishwasher soap, trash bags, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash at the house. I’m not sure if that was the owners or past guests, but based on the oversized containers, I’m guessing the owners. Such a nice touch! We cooked a lot and the gas Weber grill was fantastic. The kitchen had everything we needed for quick, easy summer vacation meals. I even noticed a crock pot tucked in one of the cabinets. We enjoyed many campfires and stargazing, which resulted in catching many shooting stars. The beach this year is spectacular. Lots of room to run and play and just have fun. Plenty of room to walk in either direction too, which our dogs loved as much as we did. We had fun exploring where the river meets the lake about 3/4 of a mile south down the beach. Jim, the owner, is super responsive and was great at answering questions in advance of our stay. Thank you for sharing this great home with us! We hope to be back next year!!

Another great beach week this year!

After staying last year we decided to stay at this lovely cottage again this year. The house is light and airy and not musty like some other beach houses we’ve stayed at. It is well stocked with beach towels towels and kitchen essentials.the deck is wonderful for dinners and sunsets. We enjoyed a fire one night in the fire pit.The few steps to the large beautiful beach is an easy trek for all. Again we enjoyed long walks along the beach and both calm and wavy water days. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us once again!

Beach is worth the price

The beach for this property is amazing and we loved it. No AC is not the best especially with air quality being poor some days. Bring lots of fans to move air around. Downstairs bathroom needs work.

Wonderful family home

Back by popular demand, this was our second trip to this home. You cannot beat this location for amazing sunsets and a beautiful beach. The house was very clean and well stocked with all the comforts of home. It easily accommodated our family of 8. Jim, the owner, was quick and responsive with communications. Definitely a 5 ⭐️ rental.

Quiet and Beautiful

This is a great quiet spot for those that enjoy the beach. Our weather sucked in part due to the Canadian wildfire smoke, we have bad luck! The home is a good size for my wife and I with our grown children and their little ones. It was well kept for an older home and some nice upgrades were done on the mail floor. If you are big on cooking at home, you may want to bring everything you count on. The kitchen materials are dated and limited. There are ceiling fans throughout the house and if the temps are moderate they are ample to kill the heat. There is no air conditioning and had no issues but high temps were in the seventies. Would do it again.
