Most of my events be in Bridgeport Connecticut. This hotel is shouting so it’s close. I’ve been coming here for a long time but here lately it became nasty to spread on the bed was dirty. Undergoing renovations is no excuse for a room that looked and felt unclean and more like a storage area for furniture that should be on its way to the dump. Never was able to get the television to work the way it should. The staff was friendly and helpful but that was really the only positive.

My stay at Hyatt House Shelton was just okay. The hotel was fully booked due to them hosting two wedding parties, so they were not able to accommodate my room request of not staying on the first floor. The room that I was booked into was next door to a noisy party. There were slamming doors until 2am. The parking situation was also a little odd. The hotel does not have enough surface lots to accommodate all of their guests, so some guests have to park in an underground structure. Overall a few inconveniences, but I still wish Hyatt House Shelton would have done better.

The website failed to mention that the hotel was under construction. The floor that our room was on was tarped off, had stacks of supplies (paint, spackle, etc.), and even a gaping hole leading directly outside that was partially boarded off. One of the elevators was broken, and the one working elevator was around a 10 minute wait constantly. We were roomed next to a loud, barking dog and were unaware that the dog-friendly rooms would be adjacent to non-dog rooms. Overall a very poor experience and would definitely not recommend.
