Not clean

The room was very old with peeling paint in bathroom. We stayed two nights and while the air conditioner worked fine, there was something wrong with the humidity in the room. The sheets were always damp, as was our clothing. Especially the leather items we had, like my purse, became sticky and wet from humidity. This made the room smell very bad. There was also a sense that the room was not properly cleaned between guests. When I went to take a shower, there were little Dove shampoo and conditioner bottles in the room and they were half full. I thought to myself, did they just leave me the bottles from the previous guests, or are they refilling these small bottles rather than replace them? Sure enough, the next morning I saw on the housekeeper carts giant pump bottles of Dove shampoo and conditioner. It really bothered me to know that I had shared a bottle of shampoo with a stranger. I don't think that is sanitary at all.

Mediocre Stay

The bed was comfy, but every day our housekeeper did an incomplete job. Toilet paper, coffee, cups not replaced. Our final night the bed was sloppily made and not all the dirty towels were replaced. Breakfast was ok, but we got tired of the same scrambled eggs , potatoes, and sausage every day. Definitely felt like they kept serving leftovers. Pancakes 3 days out of 4. Only saw bagels, muffins, and fruit salad one day.

Upon arrival we found out that our 2 double bed room was changed arbitrarily to a king bedroom due to oversold rooms… staff member told us that it’s the IHG policy to give preference on rooms to their members… rooms had a sofa bed, but that was not what we requested in advance. How is that a member has more privileges than a regular reservation already booked through Expedia..??? Very disappointed with the Holiday Inn service. A paid reservation in advance must be honored no matter what…
