The decor is beautiful overlooking bay Friendly hardworking staff Was very happy till went to sleep on 15th floor and there was hammering drilling and possible rotary sawing of concrete? Possibly on roof. There was note on cabinet next day cable would be installed in hotel but I thought we would be gone before then. Never thought it would start approximately 1030 pm for a couple hrs. Would have been heaven there except for noise of construction sounds.
$30/day for valet parking, $25/day to self parking, I walked to the front desk to ask them to send some one to my room to oil or grease my bathroom door which made a terrible screeching sound so bothersome at night because it was so loud. No one ever came. The tv wouldn’t come on the first day. I called the front desk to change my room, I had just came in at 11pm when I checked in. Front desk said no other room available. However, parking garage no where near full. Anyway, they sent someone over who was very polite and friendly who reset the cable box and it worked. However, every day we had a problem turning on the tv. Beach front was basically sand in front of a dock. I’ve stayed in many Westin around the country and this one was disappointing.

Our room was right next to the maintenance elevator on the 15th floor and unfortunately it was extremely noisy constantly. Would not recommend staying near there. Service at the Aqua restaurant was awful due to one waitress for the whole restaurant and no help. Was disappointing.

Paper thin walls--need soundproofing.
The walls were super thin; family arrived after 1030pm next door and it sounded as if they were in our room.
The sausage & bacon served at breakfast was so hard & dry, it was nearly petrified meat. Wait staff didn't offer another thing on menu, just said 'oh, chef said it was disgusting'. how did they serve this?
In room coffee is awful.
Only 1 elevator was in working condition.
Bed was comfortable & nice view. Staff friendly.
I recently stayed at the Tampa Westin, and my experience was disappointing. As a Marriott Bonvoy member and frequent Expedia user, I booked a Sunset View King Bayview room. Upon check-in, I was given a room with a parking lot view. The night clerk informed me that my booked room was unavailable due to large groups at the hotel. He offered me a double bayview room, which was not what I had booked or paid for. What was worse was the clerk’s dismissive attitude. He told me I was free to check out if I didn’t like it and refused to contact Marriott customer service. No refund, rate adjustment, or compensation was offered. The next morning, I was awakened by construction noise. My "sunset bayview" overlooked a construction site. The bayview was not as pictured on the site. When I raised my concerns with front desk manager, he was equally unhelpful. He reiterated that my booked room was unavailable and blamed Expedia, saying if I had booked directly, I would have been informed about the construction. Expedia negotiated a refund for my remaining two nights, allowing me to check out early. While I appreciate Expedia’s support, the way I was treated at the Tampa Westin was unacceptable. The staff’s unwillingness to assist and dismissive attitude left a lasting negative impression. As a frequent traveler and loyal Marriott customer, this experience may have been my last stay at a Westin property.
Our room wasn’t ready at check in, So the manager upgraded us to another room that was ready as we had a small child with us. Excellent customer service & by far the cleanest & most up to date hotel rooms iv ever experienced and I travel a lot. The upgraded/remodeled rooms are truly spectacular. The private beach was so nice. I honestly thought it would be hard getting a chair & umbrella spot (which are free) but the beach area was pretty empty even on a holiday weekend. Very nice. Full service Starbucks on the property was very good. Food from the on sight restaurant was a little pricey but that’s to be expected by the beach. The food was good and worth it. Will be back again!
There is construction onsite as the hotel is renovating some rooms. Not sure if alll rooms will be renovated but should. My room was a somewhat out dated. The view was beautiful though as I had Oceanside. The issue was the contractors kept hitting the alarm. You never knew if it was a false alarm or real because they never told us. The recording that went off at time of alarm advised everyone to use stairs immediately. The first time the alarm went off I ran down 11 floors of stairs to find out it was a false alarm. After that the alarm went off 3 more times but you couldn’t get in touch w front desk as probably everyone was calling to check if “this time” the alarm was real. The staff should have come over the intercom immediately every time the alarm went off to advise guest it was a false alarm as we had no way of knowing.
