Lovely older property located in the heart of Springfield. Very close to the Lincoln presidential library/museum, which was a great stop. Only critique goes needs paint touchup cleaning behind the toilet a little better.

Our stay goes back to a romantic 1900's period.

This place is adorable, with period pieces and lovely balconies. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast was made to order in style.

Historic Inn in Historic Springfield

Lovely place to stay. It was my 2nd visit. Easy access to everything in Historic Springfield. The architecture and interior of this historic property is beautiful. It was built in 1990 as apartments and later converted into this 7-room Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Rose room, which had a comfy large sofa and 4-poster bed that was so comfortable - slept so well! This room has both a jetted bathtub and a large shower with dual shower heads. The breakfast was very nice; scrambled eggs and french toast but also continental if you want to grab and go. We had yummy chocolate chip cookies waiting for us. So appreciative of this small but wonderful surprise.

Comfortable stay and a beautiful piece of history.

This is a really nice property and a well-preserved piece of history. Our rooms were very nice, clean, and the beds comfortable. Loved the experience. I would have rated it a full 10 but the internet was so slow it was not useable. Over all it was a pleasant stop on a very long road trip.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. The building is beautifully maintained with lovely antique furniture throughout. We ate breakfast twice during our stay and both times the food was delicious and the portions were generous. The location is convieniently located within walking distance of several areas of interest. The staff was friendly and helpful. The chocolate chip cookies that were delivered to our door each night was a nice touch. My only complaint is that there was very little empty surface space in the Iris room to place belongings. A small table with nothing on it would be a welcome addition.

Lovely and quaint

Wonderful little hotel with plenty of attention to detail to make for a memorable stay. Rooms were uniquely decorated and the staff was very welcoming and engaging. Wish we could have stayed longer but will be back.

Historic building, walkable to many sites

Overall this is a nice property and you won’t be disappointed. Service was excellent & everything was very clean. Enjoyed the evening snack and cookies delivered to the room. We walked to the Capitol building (about a mile) & would’ve walked other places but it was extremely hot. Vinegar Hill Mall is close and nice. We had the Iris room with veranda access-didn’t use it as much as we thought because of the heat. Two minor negatives for us. Photos of Iris room show 2 chairs in the room but we only had 1 (for 2 people). Most of the dining tables are hi tops with uncomfortable stools. There are a few regular tables & 2 outside also. We only found 2 comfortable chairs in sitting room. FYI: others mentioned train horns that could be annoying but they stopped in the evening until 6 am or so. You may need insect spray -we got bit up on veranda in evening.
