We were generally disappointed with our experience at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, St Augustine. Rooms needs a refurbish, the air-conditioning smelled, the beds were small and uncomfortable. The walls were thin and the noise of screaming children throughout the night was awful.

Just A So So Stay

Greeting at front desk was very nice but that is really the best part of the stay. For a Marriott this hotel is pretty run down. Requested a room on the first floor when we reserved a room but got a second floor. Both tvs in bedroom just barely worked. We called for service it took forever for someone to show up. Room is very outdated and run down but on a good note the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is nice and quiet. When we stay at Fairfield’s we are almost always greeted with water and cookies this one does not do that. For the price it really needs a full makeover and upgrade.

I want impressed with the hotel. It was not very clean and the phone was seriously nasty. The lady that checked us in was not all that good with her customer service. Had to ask her 3 times for the WiFi information because she talked so fat she finally wrote it down. Wasn’t happy that I couldn’t use the internet because yall want us to sign up for some thing that’s we were not interested in. Wasn’t able to just put in our Last. And and room number. The breakfast was to the norm for a hotel. The lady that works in the kitchens is very sweet and upbeat which is nice to see first thing in the morning.

Ask about pet fees before booking

Staff was accommodating with our request for a first floor room. The pet fee was $50.00 which was not noted on the hotels.com website and had an additional hold of $150.00 which again was not noted. We felt these fees were quite high.

The room was big but they need to clean better there was mold by the window AC unit and drain in the shower was clogged with lots of human hair that I unclogged with my hand because it was late at night and bathtub was filling up with water and would not go down it was disgusting to think this bathtub had all that human hair. Also, I had to get the vacuum from the Houskeeper the first night because there so much dog hair on the carpet. Sham on bed was stained, and beds were very uncomfortable it seemed that it was off the frame. Which such a beautiful Hotel and it having the Marriott brand behind it they need to do a better job in the detail cleaning of the rooms.
