Put reachable outlets in the room!
They need to put a reachable outlet close to the bed.
There two outlets and they werw under the bed and another behind the dresser.
The AC is too noisy.
The room need to be aired. It smell humidity.
Hangers for towels in the bathroom
The rest, is pretty fair...
The Avalon Hotel is perfectly situated, easy to locate, plenty of parking, the staff are happy to help and we loved the free glasses of white wine between 5-7pm, the only disappointment was when we arrived Kevin or Kenneth was not very welcoming and seemed angry that we had come, however everything else was perfect, look out for the free looper bus just around the corner, which takes all around the city, this is definitely a must do when you’re there and visit the voodoo bar too, all near the Avalon Hotel
It almost felt like being home. The hotel is an older building (historic?) on a tree lined residential street. Reminded me ofVery cozy feeling. Friendly staff. Lots of lounging area inside the lobby. Lots of lounging area outside on the porch area. So pleasant to sit outside. The sister hotel nextdoor provided coffee shop, restaurant and bar and pool. Plenty of parking.
We stayed here for the Tampa Bay blues fest and it was a wonderful boutique hotel. Nicely appointed. Shuttle service available from their sister hotel next door. I can't remember the name...but overall great place to stay?

While the lobby and staff were very nice, the windows to the room were so small keeping it dark all day long which is not what you want when you’re in sunny Florida. There was no fridge, no microwave, and no breakfast provided. So staying for a week with nowhere to keep any food was way more than inconvenient. They don’t have their own pool, you have to go to the sister hotel next door for a very small pool. The parking lot was not even big enough to fit their own guests. Luckily the staff was super nice, but other than that there was nothing worth spending your money on there unfortunately
The Avalon is absolutely charming. It has such a cool art deco feel. The lobby is immaculately decorated, and they serve free white wine and champagne from 5-7pm, which was really nice - and the lobby and patio are perfect places to relax and enjoy some wine. We stayed one night for our anniversary after driving past the hotel a million times and thinking how cute it looked. We stayed in the actual hotel building on the first floor. The room was small but very comfortable and clean. Service was excellent. It’s nice that Avalon guests can also use the amenities at the Hollander but in my opinion the Avalon is a cooler place to stay than the Hollander. Breakfast at the Hollander was very good, and the heated pool was gorgeous. My only complaint about the Avalon is that the room was cold… we had the heat set to 82 all night long and it never got warm (but I recognize that it would not typically be expected that a guest would run the heat full blast in April in Florida). Also there were very limited outlets in the room to charge our devices. However, overall we had a really wonderful time and will definitely be back.
