One of the reasons I selected the St Pete FL SureStay is because of its hotel shuttle. Their shuttle wasn't in the airport shuttle lot, so I tried to call the hotel. The number was for ReservationDesk.com. They told me to call the hotel directly. I called & there was a single tone & then a green button on my keypad screen that said "Call Again". The same thing happened the next 5 times I called. I called ReservationDesk again, reported the problem, & asked them to check the line. The same thing happened to them. They told me to call the main Best Western number. BW suggested I email which I did. I was standing out in the pouring rain this entire time (over an hr), afraid I'd miss the shuttle. I finally got through to the hotel by phone & the shuttle arrived about 25 min later. It turns out there's no dedicated driver. The desk staff makes shuttle runs when available. The hotel was quiet, but very run down. My room was exceptionally clean, but the outdoor areas were not. One desk staff member was pleasant & helpful. The other was somewhat rude.

Really a 1 or 2 Star hotel

This is really a 1 or 2 star hotel, its very old, the hand soap and body soaps were empty. We thankfully only spent about 6-7 hours because we were just there to catch our early morning flight. Thankfully the beds were clean and comfortable, but it is a very old hotel with a very sketchy area in the back. We have stayed at many best western/surestays and this was the first. Won't stay again.

Be prepared if you stay

We had some challenges staying at this property. There was no soap or shampoo in the bottles in the shower. We made management aware and they did nothing. I went to the front desk with wet hair to tell them the hair dryer in our room didn't work and she said she was sorry but didn't offer a hair dryer that DID work! The pool area was decent but there are only 3 reclining chairs and they are nearly always taken. Property is dated and our bathroom walls had wear signs and the shower curtain was torn. Breakfasts were good. All in all I would not recommend staying here unless the savings is worth the hassle.

Worst hotel ever!!

Worst place to stay. Floor were very dirty. A/C went out. Reported to office and they gave me a fan. Asked to get another room and they said they couldn’t. Would never recomend this place

Overpriced

This room/hotel was very run down. For the price we paid it was very disappointing. The tile and paint looked like a 5 year old did it. The shampoo and body wash containers never got filled. Floor was dirty even though they did room service ( sort of ). Shower had good water pressure and bed very comfortable. Lots of loud people right under flight path. Bring ear plugs!

Great hotel, terrible receptionist

Really great welcome from the younger lady on reception, and the rooms themselves appear to have been remodelled. The beds were comfy and clean and the bathroom and floor with new tiling. Breakfast was good with a fairly basic food offering. Reception on the day of checkout was another matter. Barbara the elderly receptionist was rude and ignored me and proceeded to sort out the cleaning rotas and provide bags to them. I asked for more coffee bags and she simply threw them over the counter. For what would have been a 5 star review was reduced due to her attitude.
