My kids and I just for a night to break up our road trip. When we drove up we were very impressed by the outdoor area. Unfortunately, once we got inside this feeling changed. The room was extremely outdated, was not clean and smelled musty. I was traveling alone with my kids so we dealt with it for the night, but we won’t be staying here again.

On the water, marina was right behind the hotel, picturesque. They really do put a effort forward to keep up with modern day asthetics and efforts to merge nature and functionality. From the water drainage to the wetland catch basins, nature walking paths, beaches, etc. fun and adventurous place to stay.

We were a little worried about our stay at check-in as a water pipe dripped onto us at the desk but our room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. the bed was very good. we were there for an air show so just stayed the night but enjoyed our stay in the room. We did not eat on site

The location of the in is nice. It has a walking path near it. With the price of the hotel, breakfast should not cost between 12-18$, so we just found somewhere else to eat. Staff was not very inviting. There is a dire need for upgrades. Outlets are hard to get to, the bathroom hard mildew on the grout especially where the wall and tub meet. There were no tissues and only 1/3 a roll of to with no more in the room. Fridge wouldn’t cool unless you propped the freezer open. There was debris on the carpet. TV had a dark spot. Chipped/old furniture. Slow drain. The door frames were rusted and dented. We had a view of the water but the windows were filthy.

The staff was friendly and the location was nice with Lake Superior view. But the property was run down and needs a little TLC. The bed was comfortable enough. Could have used someplace convenient to stash our duffle bags. The bar and restaurant had an outdoor patio that was nice but the bartender seemed a little inexperienced. We had to tell her how to make our drinks, but still friendly and helpful. And the lighting in the stairway we had to use (at one end of the building) was pretty poor.
