The property itself is lovely but the rooms are in need of refreshing, they don’t come close to our first impression of the main lodge. Furniture is worn, lamp shade was falling apart, food left in drawer. The constant daily turnover of Princess guests without having upkeep and is evident. It’s fine for a one night stay where your choices are limited.
This property was AMAZING! I have no idea why anyone would rate it less than 5 stars.
This hotel was in Denali State Park, not Denali National Park. From this Lodge we were able to see Denali and all of it's glory. I was told that it was pretty rare to see Denali without clouds covering it, so we were super excited. All around GREAT stay!
Wonderul room, i loved the restuarant option, the scenery was breathtaking

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Room was very far from main lodge. Shuttle ran every 10 minutes but that’s 30 minutes for me to go get a cup of coffee/breakfast muffin and return to room. Walking was faster but I tore my meniscus the week before arrival so not a good option for me. Room was full of bugs, carpet didn’t look clean, old style bathroom. Kind of like cabin camping! Far away from everything. We were virtual prisoners for overpriced food as nearest stores or restaurants were 30 miles away. Best things were the beauty of the lodge and views of the mountains, they offered a shuttle to Talkeetna, and a great little gift shop. Most employees were very friendly and helpful. Two hours to Denali National Park where most of our tours left from but a magnificent drive along the mountain range with frequent sightings of moose.
Room not ready at 4:30. Had to try 5 keys before able to get into room as lock not working but housekeeping opened door so could put suit cases in. Tried doing the wash but machine/system did not work without a maintenance call. They were all helpful just was a lot after traveling all day.
It was a great place to stay during our visit to Talkeetna and Denali. Great views. On the clear days, we were able to see the mountains. Staff was very friendly.
It is a beautiful property. The only complaint is there is no parking close to the buildings. I have a disability and I had to park my car down the road in a parking lot. However, there is a shuttle bus to take guests from the lodges to the main building where restaurants are.
The property location is incredible with a direct view of Denali range. The front desk team are friendly and professional in providing service to the guests. The rest of the property feature are poor to terrible. We arrived when the outside temperature was in mid seventies, there are no Air conditioning in the rooms, we had difficulty in sleeping in hot room. The rooms and bathrooms need to be renovated. The rooms are not cleaned well.
All the above issues could be tolerated if we could have an average quality meal in the facility restaurants. Unfortunately, our breakfast and dinner experiences were well below average even though we paid high prices for our food. The cost were equal to $$$ category restaurants for poor quality food. And the guests have no other choice, there are no other options within miles away from the facility.
I hope that these issues could be improved because otherwise the facility location and other positive features are worthwhile for a visit.
The property and surroundings were amazing. However rooms and staff responsiveness were not. When we arrived there was dried blood on my sheets and it took staff 3 days to clean room and change sheets with multiple requests!
We loved staying here! Didn't realize it was connected to Princess Cruises, but it was a reasonable price and had everything we needed. We were blessed with views of Mt. McKinley 3 days in a row. Highly Recommended.
We had a great stay. Loved the grounds. The front desk was great and very helpful. The only thing is we had to do laundry. We weren’t comfortable downloading an app just to get our laundry done so we went to cabin 14 where we could use quarters. The quarter machine was out so the front desk told us we could get change at the gift shop. The workers at the gift shop were irritated that the front desk told us to get change from them. The manager of the gift shop was kind of rude and wasn’t happy the front desk sent us to the gift shop. She would only allow us $3 in quarters. To wash and dry a load was $5. I had to buy something just to get some more change. I’m not sure what the issue was. It’s all owned by Princess so what does it matter. My suggestion would be just get machines you can tap your credit card on rather than making your guests download a sketchy app. Otherwise it was great and the 20320 restaurant was good too although it did take awhile to get our food but I would definitely stay again and eat at the restaurant
Lodge was an easy check in although one key card didn’t work. Also we were on the second floor with no elevator. We are fit enough to have managed but there was no mention of not being ADA compliant. Also there is no air conditioning in the room and the curtains are short, while they are blackout being short allows substantial light from above and below the window. Making it difficult for us non Alaskan residents not used to 20 hours of daylight.
