Check in went fine… polite man at desk. Upon arriving in our room we noticed the ceiling in the bathroom was falling, shower shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers didn’t work. I had to go back to the front desk in my pajamas to ask for additional shampoo, etc. Microwave was filthy, bugs in bathroom and main area. walls were paper thin. I mentioned at check out that the hotel could use some improvements and was told they were planned for the future. Definitely will be paying a little more and stay somewhere else next time.

Bottom line this place is a no go! I was traveling with my pet and so I can only speak on the pet rooms. The beds were truly uncomfortable. I felt the springs in both beds. The tiny bathroom reeked like a chemical and smokey smell, had a constant running toilet which I fixed and a broken fixture. It also had only a small standup shower and a toilet. There was a suspicious hole in the ceiling that had not been fixed properly. There was a strange, mechanical clicking sound coming from behind the television (which was not the fridge.)I unplugged 3 plugs before going to bed and it stopped, thank God! Looking behind there, I could see a lot of dirt and leaves…? The water pressure was nil. The refrigerator was plugged in but not working and had a terrible odor. The curtains were ripped and the breakfast was not worth the risk. Food looked old. My only average ratings were for location in Travelers Rest which was safe and the front desk workers were ok - they promised to relay all of these complaints to management to be fixed. Also to move rooms, but it was too late. I was staying there for less than 17 hours. There’s absolutely no pride in this hotel. When a guest feels like a second class citizen, it’s bad! For sure, next time, I will NOT stay there and I cannot believe I paid $170 for one night! NEVER again! Atrocious!

Cockroach Infestation

The experience we had was worse than any hotel we have ever stayed in before. There were German cockroaches, at least five that we saw while we were there. One was on the bed, two were on the wall beside the bed, one was sticking its head out of the power socket and one was by the sink. The room smelled bad, a mixture of a bad, weird smell, and also Fabulosa cleaner. Although the sheets were clean and the toilet and shower were clean, the door was disgusting, and the floor had sticky spots on it. Equipment in the workout room didn’t work. What looks like a fire pit by a lake on their website is actually a tiny cement area by a supermarket and the parking lot. We came during a snowstorm and was snowed in and the night worker said the entire hotel was sold out so we were stuck there, (the roads were ice by that point) but I seriously thought about sleeping in the car because I could barely sit in that room and there is no lobby to sleep in. It was like a nightmare to be honest. There was no manager on duty that night or the next morning or the following morning. I’m not sure if there is ever really a manager there. He assured me he would pass along the information to the manager, and he said that we would definitely get a refund. We actually gave him one of the roaches in a tissue that he kept supposedly to let his manager know. But we were never able to get a refund.
