Its always a good time in traverse city staying at pointes north. The hot tub is always great to have in the room. The only thing i can literally think that they should get is smart tvs to be able to stream. They do have direct tv but not there to watch tv anyway. It was another successful stay at pointes north like all other times were.

Good location

Hotel was located on the beach so location was ideal for relaxing. We stayed in the Penthouse, 4th floor, which did give us plenty of room & pretty views of the water from balcony. Room does have a full kitchen if you wanted to cook meals. Fresh coffee in lobby all day is good. Grounds are well maintaned & plenty of parking. My 2 negatives were that there's NO elevator in the building we were in (website never stated this). Carrying luggage & stuff 4 floors only made me mad, never thought to ask if there's an elevator at a hotel with 4 floors? Simple breakfast would be ok but there's nowhere to eat in lobby so carried yogurt, boiled egg & coffee up 4 flights of stairs 1st day, we had breakfast out the rest. When I asked about elevator they said there's one in the building next door?

This property was both odd and very poorly maintained inside the unit. It was lacking basic functionality such as a place to plug in your phone and walls needed paint. More problematic was the curtain separating the bathroom from the bedroom, the faulty light switch and the weirdly tall kitchen faucet in the bathroom. Did I mention the jacuzzi tub is IN the bedroom? The furniture was mostly damaged and mismatched. I could go on but you get the idea. The exterior was dirty. The beach was nice but that is about all I can say that is positive.

The slider door out to the deck (3rd floor unit) was barely able to open and close - it was very worn out. The AC/Heat unit was so loud it sounded like an airplane taking off each time it started. Impossible to sleep with it on. The unit was worn and in great need of new paint, mildew removal, etc. Beautiful view is the only positive comment I can make, unfortunately.

The staff were kind and friendly. We were allowed an early check in! The room was spacious and I loved the large tub. I read in a review before I booked that it was sound proof. That was not my experience. The floors are wood like and I had the accessible room on the ground floor. The room above us had heavy footed occupants! The place needs some updates and repairs. There was water leaking from underneath the outside wall. The pool was closed because it’s Michigan and cold in May but some folks still went out on the beach chairs and I could hear them from the room. If the pool had been open it was right outside our room on the ground that could be a minus for some. The bath room sink was slow draining and the chairs in the room were dirty and old. On the other side of the tub the wall area was plastered heavily and painted but you can detect possible mold. The bed was hard and the sheets were scratchy or rough! I don’t think they were clean. I slept in my clothes. I booked for two nights and stayed for one! I was offered to stay the additional night and they would keep the room above empty for a quieter stay but I declined. I booked through Expedia and paid in advance so my refund was expedited for the night I canceled. I was asked to pay an incidental fee of $100.00 through the hotel which I have yet to receive and it’s been 10 days.

Always friendly, accommodating and helpful

Rooms are perfect for two for a weekend away , big, bright and airy. The location is spectacular. Reception are always helpful and engaging. Doors open straight on to Lake Michigan which you can gaze at from the in room jacuzzi. This was a return visit , they happily agreed to a special request for the same room from a previous trip which was very gracious of them. Will definitely be back. Thank you
