I booked and paid for 2 rooms because my cousin and I were arriving at different times. The office staff was unclear on the reservation saying it was only in my name then finally figured it out. She was difficult to understand not speaking clearly nor loud enough to hear over the blaring loud tv and AC unit. After I checked in I wanted to make sure all my cousin needs to do was check in with her ID since I’d already taken care of the room fees and $50 damage deposit. She confirmed that she would just need to check in. We stayed in upper level rooms. The parking behind the building was sketchy at best, it was much nicer in the front. The stairways were dirty and dark and full of flies as was the landing where the rooms were to the point that when we opened the door to the room flies got inside! There were only 2 towels in the bathroom and a musty smell inside with a ratty looking chair that did not look inviting to sit on. The day after we got home I got a text from my cousin asking if they charged me for both rooms because they charged her a $50 charge and a $200 charge. After confirming that I did get charged the rate for both rooms, I sent a message to the hotel demanding they refund her that fee. My cousin also called the hotel where they informed her that the $200 charge was not the room rate fee. They charged her because they are accusing her of smoking in the room. She argued that was not the case but tgey refused to listen. This is outrageous! Travelers beware!
