The check-in was fine. The hotel is old and has not been updated, including the elevators. When we got off the elevator at our floor, the smell of marijuana was overwhelming even thought this is a "smoke free" hotel. The room has not been updated but seemed clean enough. The remote was very cheap and did not work at all. The hotel amenities such as the pool and the spa are closed seemingly permanently. The steak house that used to be there was also closed. This is a fine hotel if you are earning it free as a perk for gambling. If you're looking for a luxury vacation experience, go somewhere else.

The hotel was great. The food options not so much. It may have been what I ordered but my meal at the sugar factory was the worst meal I had the whole trip.

The bed in the room, is not good. Feels old and worn down. The pillows do not fit the bed. The bed is a king, and the pillows look like they are from a twin bed. Both my wife and I could feel every move made by the other. You must notify housekeeping daily if you want your room cleaned. The shower could use an updated shower head.

Nascar Experience

Stayed two nights in the hotel for the purpose of attending the NASCAR Experience. Had an awesome track facing room on the 8th floor. If you would like to do the NASCAR Experience this way, when you make your reservation you call immediately and tell them you want Trackside window. And then of the day of your check-in call as close as you can after 12:00 p.m. and make the request again just to make sure. They make the room assignments for the day at that time. It was very awesome to be woken up by the sound of stock cars outside the window. If you are a person who does not want to hear stock cars racing outside your window, just be aware that there is a giant NASCAR track attached to the hotel.
