The location is very easy to access close enough to restaurants and other necessities nearby in White River junction. The staff was excellent very friendly and helpful. The building itself needs some maintenance in terms of structural and cosmetic attention. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the other guests were respectful. I enjoyed meeting a resident and his service animal and I am returning to spend time with them again.

I someone wants to tell me I’m wrong, I’ll stand corrected. I am not a hotel/motel snob. If it’s relatively clean and I’m not likely to be victim of either bedbugs or a felony, I will probably stay there. We did not stay there, and I most likely will be eating $400+ in hotel charges. That should tell you how bad it looked. We drove up to the hotel on the day of our booking and the outward appearance was so wretched my wife and I both said “No way are we staying here." I know Super 8 is not a premium brand. I booked it nearly a year ago because I was coming for the Dartmouth graduation and knew hotels would be hard to find. And the daily rate (over $200) suggested that it would be decent, even in a period of high demand. Also, the photo on Expedia looks much better than in reality. But I was shocked at what we found. The building is dilapidated. There literally were people who looked like meth addicts walking around outside. My wife said “It’s worse than ‘Schitt’s Creek!” I’ve stayed nearby before - there are a Holiday Inn and two other mid-tier franchise hotels nearby - and it’s Vermont, so I figured it would be ok. And maybe I should have gone in to check it out, but the outside appearance was so off-putting that we just left. Of course everything in the area was booked so we ended up staying in a lodge at Killington an hour away. I should done my homework; that’s on me. But there are several fine hotels just around the corner and I advise staying there.

For a nonsmoking hotel, my room hit me with the smell of cigarettes the minute I opened the door. But my stay started like this. I went to check in and was told my room wasn't ready, so I sat in the break area doing my work. Mind you, no one is at the hotel. Over an hour passes, and I get to check-in. I grab all my stuff and get to the assigned room only to find the key doesn't work. I head back to the desk, and they give me another room, and she states that the door never works. (Happy that I could confirm that yet again for them) So, a room isn't ready for me, and no one is around, but there are at least two rooms now that I could have been checked into? While I was trting to work, family, friends, and kids ran all over the lobby. And these were not guests. It seems like you realky dint have a job at the hotel because its always "bring your kids to work." I wouldnt have cared so much, since it was slow, but why make it that apparent in front of a paying customer? The room was stale and nasty. What's extremely upsetting is it took me several days to decide where to stay because I didn't want to spend a lot but wanted to be in a safe but clean hotel. I looked at multiple reviews. I have no idea why anyone, several anyones, would give this hotel numerous stars. So now, I also can't rely on reviews by guests. I work in the hotel industry, and this is not my expectation of good business.

I would not stay here again. The best aspects of this hotel were the kind and helpful front desk person. We saw police arrive and unsavory characters hanging around the property. The property itself was rundown and just generally felt unclean. Cigarette stains on the linoleum in the bathroom and stains on the furniture and floor. Just felt uncared for, in a variety of ways.

The Super 8 by Wyndham in WRJ, VT is one of the hotels in VT where homeless people are able to use vouchers to be housed. The first room I was given had a window which did not lock. The window had been pried open from the outside. The second room I was given had mold issues. Essentially, I paid $120 to stay the night in a homeless shelter. The staff were friendly and did what they could to help out. The breakfast area clean stocked.
