This was a very dated, very noisy property. Even though it is historical, it could be made far more comfortable. The breakfast was a small pastry with a limit of 1 per customer. The hotel would not give any customer who was staying more than 1 night a paper go cup. Who has ever heard of a policy like this? The restaurant was very good especially the service.

Great location. Very old hotel with creaky wood floors. We were on the bottom floor and it sounded like people were moving furniture in the room above us. Also tons of trains passing very close by. This was the first time a hotel has ever provided earplugs in a welcome package. Women at the front desk were unable to explain why my bill was higher that what I agreed to. I asked each day about the charges and they passed the buck. Never got an explanation, even during check out. I've booked with Hotels.com for years and this is the first time I have been overcharged by the hotel. They didn't honor the hotels.com contract.

I liked the homey feel and the historic look. I really appreciated the coffee and muffins in the morning. The shower was great. The pillows gave me a kink in my neck, unfortunately, but all else was good.

Really nice hotel, but I think I was expecting it to be a lot nicer from the photos and such a high review. Something to be known to others, is that the train comes past nearly every hour which is right out the front.

The location was minutes from the entrance to West Glacier National Park. The room was cozy and comfortable. Their restaurant was fantastic. But the 100+ car freight trains that drove by late at night and early in the morning made sleeping thru the night difficult.

This was a quaint, step back in time location! The sound of the train never bothered us. Loved the restaurant too!! Great food. Would Highly recommend this location while in West Glacier!

Very cute chalet very close the entrance to Glacier National Park. There is NO air conditioning so luckily for us it didn’t get too hot but if you are coming in July or august we he room may get stuffy. Parking gets full and can be tricky when it is busy. The room is smaller than the typical hotel room in the US but is perfect for a couple.

We loved it. Only note I have is that the property claims to be haunted and I am scared of that so I had some troubles sleeping. I didn’t think I saw any mention of that on the listing but it’s probably good to know.

This was a truly wonderful experience. Staying at the Belton offered a charming, historic atmosphere, conveniently located just outside the park. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant provided the best dining experience we had during our stay.

Belton charged me a $250.00 deposit for each night on the last three nights of my stay, a total of $750! That was, of course, in addition to the already pre-paid hotel rate through Hotels.com. They refused to give me a reciept for any of these deposits. Restaurant expenses are supposed to be taken off of the deposit(s) at this property. Restaurant staff played sickening little games pretending I had no room at the hotel, like placing your dinner at the empty table setting next to yours as if it was not your order, etc. They claimed that they were having problems with their computer system, and could not take the restaurant charge off of my deposit - so I had to pay the restaurant directly, with my card rather that putting it 'on the room'. They might have been having computer issues, but I did not appreciate their sickningness and inapproprate behaviour at the restaurant, esp. when I had put down $750 for amenities - which was supposed to include the restaurant. I still have no notice that this $750 has been refunded or released.

Fantastic, authentic, pristinely preserved old hotel. It’s like stepping back in time, but tastefully redesigned with all the necessary modern amenities. Except don’t look for a television, but there is no time for television with all there is to do in the park.

Exceptional except for: 1. No elevators and lots and lots of stairs in this old charming place. Keep your heavy bags elsewhere. 2. Their restaurant: Belton Restaurant, which have not yet reviewed. 5 star reputation, substandard service, small portions, 3 star cuisine with a limited menu. Very disappointing. I wish I had taken a pic to share of the miniture chicken dinner with the frozen diced vegetables (carrots, peas, etc) as a side that cost me $30.

We almost didn’t stay based on the train review by someone. The train did go by but never blew its horn. Hardly noticed it and it went by more than once. The building is like stepping back in time a 100 years. What a treat it was to stay there. Awesome place!!!

Views were nice and proximity to the park were nice but that’s where the positives end. Creaky floors, noise that travels down the hallway. Train that’s 30 yards away and restaurant only open for dinner and extremely pricy. The beds are not queen size either. They are full size and the shower is equivalent to a standup locker room shower.
