Rooms were spacious, very comfortable, like living at home away from home. Beds were great. Includes a washer and dryer in the unit with detergent. Staff were overall friendly and helpful. They have a lot of scheduled activities that are all family friendly and mostly fun. One staff suggested and tried to sign me up for a timeshare appointment, so look out for that if not interested. The best parts of the property are the huge indoor swimming pool and and outdoor water playground with a mini lazy river and hot tub. We came sorta off season (early May) but the water was still warm enough to swim, although the outdoor park was a little cold. Plenty of other fun amenities like a game room, ping pong table, basketball courts, and picnic tables with grills scattered around. The property is very large and surrounded by a forest of trees. Feels very safe and clean, but feels a little remote so definitely a car is required to go anywhere else outside the property. Highly recommend.

The Colonies at Williamsburg is such a nice, quiet place to stay. It has everything you need in a fully equipped kitchen to make meals, it’s essentially like an apartment.

There was little effort put into managing the areas around the indoor and outdoor pool, which created multiple safety hazards in the time I was there. A group of children loudly exited the indoor pool soaking wet from the gym and left the tile soaking wet and dangerous. I expected an area immediately outside of the pool to have a rubber mat and someone watching, but that was not the case. An elderly guest with a cane entered the pool minutes later and I'm glad that I brought the floor to the attention of the staff who gladly cleaned up the mess-- but it should have been handled without me mentioning. The safety railing in the outdoor pool going down into the lazy river is so wobbly as to pose a major safety hazard. You can move it fully 10+ inches in either direction and thought it was going to break if I touched it. Lastly, I watched a little girl almost drown. Her father noticed and ran to save her, pulling her out. If he hadn't seen it, there would have been a significantly different outcome. There were wet towels left on the gyn equipment where unwatches children ran around on the slick pool surface. The pool is a death trap and its only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured if it continues to be unmonitored.

They did not advertise the outdoor pool was closed. There was an additional fee the amenities. You pay an amenity fee at check in and any additional activities they offer there is an additional fee. Other resorts charge the one time amenity fee at check-in and you enjoy the stay. This resort does not do this.

After an hour or 2, and completely unpacking we realized the air-conditioning system did not work. Maintenance offered a window unit for a 2 bedroom apartment or switch rooms. Obviously we packed up and moved. Next room continued to have problems. Not cleaned well, was really dirty and needed to be vacuumed. Pillow cases were dirty and visiblly used wirlth hair and dirt, possibly been on floor. Screen door had a big hole. BUT, the A/C worked. Requested 8 new pillow cases and vacuumed the floor our selves as we did not want to move again. Loved the layout and location, but the Maintenance and house keeping was terrible. The furniture was old and very worn. They were trying sell this as a time share. DUMP!

The room was great. Bed was comfortable, nice shower, well equipped kitchen. Walls / Ceiling were thin. Lots of noise from neighbors. Don't like being charged extra for more towlels.

We will be back!

The space was amazing for our family trip! We stayed at a 2 bedroom apt with living room and kitchen. We were able to right a home. My husband worked 6am-10am every day on our trip, and was excited to have a large desk for his laptop and additional screen he always carries, oh and best part is it was far away from the tv.
