Charming

We had a nice stay in this little charming inn. The room was small and could use some better lighting, but other than that everything was perfect. We also liked being able to walk down to the river behind the property.

Great place to stay to stage for backpacking, Rooms are big and the is a microwave for late-arrival dinners, Dog rooms are fine, just dog rooms. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

If this property was given a little TLC it would be great. The heat and air-conditioning were on at the same time throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep. Being close to town and North Cascades was a plus for us.

The place was terrible! The room was serviced once after we complained. No fresh towels, vacuum floor, etc. Toilet seat was falling off. Breakfast area was filthy. Cereal crumbs on counters, floor, and tables. They only provided cereal, cheep bagels, waffles, orange juice, and mealy apples. Had container for raisin bran that never had anything in it. When asked they said they ran out, but fact is they never had any. On third day breakfast was not open until I called the main number after 8:45 am. The person responsible just didn’t come to work that day. Someone from the kitchen opened and contacted another property to get someone to step in. That person told me we should have stayed at their property because it was much better. You might expect to pay less than $100 per night, but not here! The first night (Thursday)_ was $169. The next 3 nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) were $249.00 per night. Yes, Winthrop is a popular tourist destination and there was a music festival on the weekend, but this sure seems like price gouging to me! To top it off, the front desk person on Monday when we left was totally unprofessional insisting that none of it was her fault and I would have to contact the manager. She did not provide any contact info. We have visited Winthrop many times over the years. It is a great place with many things to see and do, good food, and fun activities. This business does not represent what Winthrop is. NEVER STAY AT THE WINTHROP INN!!

Outdated and a little run down

Very outdated. At least a mile to walk to town. Air conditioner wouldn't turn off so we froze at night. Pictures make it look really nice but it's a very run down looking building and needs some serious TLC. Bed, however was very comfortable.
