We got this room for a cheap rate. The room and property were old but clean. Bed was comfortable enough but not a 5 star. Good for a late check in, sleep and leave early in the am. The check in lady was very friendly and lovely. The worst part was the breakfast. The booking told of a full hot breakfast. There was nothing hot. The waffle mix was questionable with goopy mix and globs of oil and water. The “orange juice” was Sunny D, the peanut butter was from an open jar that everyone had put utensils (double dipped?) and possible fingers in it. There was no bread, muffins and only a couple lonely bananas for fruit. Cereal was borderline stale. Breakfast was skipped to say the least. Would give 0/5 based on breakfast, 3/5 based on room.

Low cost but almost empty...

Breakfast was the barest minimum during the week, which was not disclosed prior to reservations, or even after arrival. The standard hotel continental breakfast is only served on weekends. We were offered bread, cereal and waffle mix. The waffle iron did not cook the waffles all the way which made the half raw waffles inedible. Nothing else was offered. Very disappointing, especially because we choose this hotel because it offered a breakfast. But it was the lack of communication that pissed me off. Had I known, we would've planned breakfast elsewhere and made time for it. Very few cars in the parking lot, so few guests. When it came time to check out, no staff could be found. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, we had to leave our room keys with the maid in order to make our appointment.

Cheap sleep

Beds were comfy and clean. The rest was pretty bad. Needed deep cleaned, maintained, and better staffed. The breakfast was pretty much non existent- no coffee, empty and sloppy serving containers- we went to McDs.

We are in 128. My husband had to wipe the nightstand it was filthy. The rug needs vacuumed esp. in the corners. The hot water machine was out of order. Water should have been provided to heat up in the microwave for tea or to make oatmeal. Set a gallon out, just saying it's out of order is poor management. I went to the desk twice & asked for water for guests. Reluctantly 2 bottles of water were provided. Good management would have had water set out for the guests use for tea or oatmeal. I'm aware this is an older building it can still be clean. The mattress cover sheet has dried blood...totally unexceptable. This is our first & last stay here.

Overnight stay at Deluxe Inn

The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit tired and the bathtub wasn't clean, but was otherwise okay. Breakfast was fairly minimal with no tea, no yogurt and the coffee machine was struggling. The price was very reasonable.

Disappointing

The cleanliness and condition of the bathtub in particular were such that I would not have a bath. Breakfast was offered, but the two hot plates were completely empty, as was the pastry display (except for sliced bread). Coffee machine was not working.

I did not stay at the property after previewing the room. There was broken glass in the parking lot and no lighting inside the back entry doorway. A trash bag and other items were left by the door. A distinct smell of mold and mildew was in the hallway and room. Front desk clerk was outstanding and cancelled the reservation. The outdoor front entrance was also very dark.

Great overnight stay, clean, comfortable, quiet, nice shower, all the amenities, friendly hosts. Only drawback was breakfast, we were told 6:30 to 9:30 & coffee wasn't ready & waffle iron took 15 minutes to heat up at 7:00. All that was available was toast & cereal. Full breakfasts are only served on Saturday & Sunday.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. And for the price! Wow.. It is now my go to hotel when im in the Wytheville area.
