Super slow check in. I paid on hotels.com but was also asked to have a card on file for damages. There were no damages and my card was charged anyway. No response from hotel via phone or hotels.com message. Dirty and no soap or lotion in room.

No queen beds, overcharged by $20

The reservation was for 2 queen beds but when we got there we were told there were only doubles and kings and that they didn't have any queens at all. As in, not that the rooms with the queens were taken, but that the hotel had no queen beds at all. The room overall was fine and the beds were fine although they were definitely full-size and not queens. Everything was clean. The window was weird but closable. There weren't any facial tissues and the setup for the sink seemed to be missing a coffee maker, perhaps? There's a shelf deal that seems like something should go there and below it but there was nothing there. The facial tissue dispenser that's built into the counter was empty, too. We ended up each sleeping in our own bed, which was especially weird since it was our 29th wedding anniversary. The restaurant was fine and I appreciated that someone else left a review mentioning that check-in was in the restaurant. When we were having dinner the employee told some other people that they don't take cash. They did put a $100 hold on my credit card. The staff were nice, but of the many hotels I've stayed at this was the most odd one since 1992. It was a shock to get our credit card statement and see a very different charge than my Hotels.com receipt shows, though! We'll be disputing it.

Heater wouldnt come on, I tried for some time. Changed rooms and the tv in that room wouldn't function. Woman in charge was able to reconnect after about 20-30 min. All of this took well over an hour start to finish. Woman ( very kind) apologized fervently and said I should get a free meal...but I didnt. I feel I should get a partial refund for the inconvenience.

At first glance, it is iffy. But friendly staff. The lobby of the hotel was not clean for the 1st 2 days. On the day we left, it was vacuumed and cleaned. Our room was clean ( except for the dog hair under the bed). I bent down to retrieve something I had dropped. But in the grand scheme of things, this place was affordable compared to Steamboat accommodations! We did not eat at the diner, nor did we witness anyone else.

We made arrangements on line for a king bed room thru Expedia and when I arrived found we were in a room with one double bed. The person at the desk corrected this for this, although he had to struggle, because he had a full house. This is a bare bones facility in a small, rural Colorado town. The room was clean, but the carpeting was not. I pulled the filters on the wall heating/ac unit and they were filthy. This facility is more of a no-tell than a hotel. I would never recommend this facility to a friend, but I would recommend it to Trump and his ilk as they need to get a real glimpse of how rural America lives, and I'm no liberal.

The room had gum stuck to the floor as well as dirt and other debris. It was very obvious that it had not been cleaned well or at all.

A comfortable, clean place to stay

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. Everything we look for in a hotel! We were missing a few items (soap, wash clothes) which was my only complaint. But the staff was very nice and helpful to any request I had. We also had dinner at Penny's Diner which had a good variety for a decent price. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone!
