The stay was dope! Staff was mad cool. And the lobby was lit!!! I didn't know if it was a private party because me and my wife would've stayed.

Great hotel and close to Barclays Center

The Penny is such a great place to stay in Williamsburg! As first-time visitors to New York, we loved being just across the water — it offered a completely different perspective of the Big Apple while still being super convenient for getting into Manhattan. There are plenty of fantastic places to eat nearby — we’d recommend Four Horsemen and L’Industrie Pizzeria for dinner, and Apollo Bagels for breakfast! We stayed in a Queen Room, which was the perfect size for two people. We loved the vibe and the beds were super comfy and the room was quiet. Having a fridge, sink, and kettle was really useful, and we appreciated the complimentary in-room coffee too. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to check out the rooftop bar since we were so busy exploring the city, but it looked great. The staff were friendly and helpful — we had a few questions about our bill, and they resolved everything quickly. We did have a couple of small issues with the room upon arrival (some lights not working and the toilet door not closing properly), but it didn’t affect our stay overall and we let the staff know. We really enjoyed our time at The Penny and would happily stay again!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed dinner at Laser Wolf (rooftop restaurant). The only negative to the hotel experience is the hotel lobby. It is beautiful and we would have loved to hang out and enjoy a drink and the scenery, however teleworkers and squatters (free WiFi) have taken over the space. Every person there takes up a table for 2 or 4 people and the couches. Laptops on every table. These are not guests of the hotels. I’m surprised the hotel allows it. A majority didn’t even have a cup of coffee or drink from the bar.
