We stopped here during a road trip from Miami to North Carolina because the price looked good and the pictures made the place seem decent. The reality was completely different.
The property looked very dirty as soon as we arrived. The lobby had a bad smell, and our “non-smoking” room smelled strongly like cigarettes. The carpets, furniture, and bathroom looked as if they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. It genuinely felt more like an unsafe roadside stop than a hotel.
I went back to the front desk and requested another room, but the second room was just as bad — same strong odor, dirty floors, dirty towels, and an overall uncomfortable feeling. At that point, we decided we couldn’t stay there, especially with kids. We left and booked another hotel within about 30 minutes of checking in.
This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Based on the condition of the rooms and the fact that we didn’t even stay the night, I believe a full refund is absolutely reasonable. If negative stars were an option, I would choose that.
I hope management seriously improves the cleanliness, smells, and overall upkeep of this property, because it is nothing like the was photos suggest.
