Book Best Western Catalina Island accommodation from NZ$256

Tried to reach them by phone multiple times prior to arrival to inquire about dropping off our bags and never could get anyone to answer. Upon arrival we found that they no longer offer shuttle service so we were forced to pay to store our bags at rhe cruise terminal. At check in it took 20+ minutes to check us in and when we finally got to our room it was quite spacious with a balcony but that's where the good part ended. The carpet was patched and the tack strip was poking through stabbing us in the foot. The general condition was dingy and dirty. After the desk closed at 9 pm our toilet was clogged. My husband turned off the water to prevent damage and we texted the after hours number and got a response at 7:20 am. Unacceptable! We were without a toilet all night as were our friends in the room below us. Clearly there is a plumbing issue in the building. The morning staff said someone would contact us about a refund or credit and two weeks have passed and we've received no communication. We paid a resort fee and got nothing in the way of amenities. 1 star is a generous rating. Take your money and stay somewhere else.

My room was on the third floor and had a lovely balcony with an ocean view! It was clean, comfortable & quiet. One thing of note is this historic hotel does not have an elevator. But with the central location, this hotel is hard to beat. We will return.

Nice clean kitchenette, quiet & peaceful, scenery was great, smoking area was neat & calm.

Top floor (3rd floor) with ocean view through a window. Room was clean and comfortable. No AC, small fridge. Close to shops and restaurants. Quiet, quaint, historic building. All stairs, no elevator.
