The hotel was basic but clean and well maintained. The staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had something for everyone including myself (gluten free and vegetarian). Great travel routes onto the city centre which was easy to use and fast. The biggest issue was the beds! The bed was just too small (double) and on wheels so when someone moved the whole bed moved. Didnt sleep well any of the nights which did put a bit of a strain on the holiday .

Room had bloodstains on the carpet, bedsheets had bloodstains, which is requested and were changed. There cobwebs on both bedside corners, no wash cloth as they did not know what they were when requested. No small fridge to keep small items and water. When requested I was told by one of the staff, that some of the IHG hotels in Asia and Mideast do not have anything like I am asking for. I reminded her, I am not in those locations and have never been! I could not wait to get out of there.

Overall our stay was good. Only disappointment was the bar when we came back one evening wanting a drink. We were advised that they could not take payment for drinks after 11pm and that we were to speak to reception and give our credit card details and that they would charge a £50 holding fee, which would be adjusted when we checked out. For 2 drinks, this was absolutely pointless!! We were also given a discount card to use at the bar, but were not advised that this could not be used after 11pm?? All in all - no one seemed to know what or why these rules were in place?! It would have been helpful to have been given all this information when we first checked in!!

Comfortable stay. All staff were helpful The only issue is there is a lot of steps at the zoo entrance area and step hills to enter if you struggle with this if you don't drive
